Is it just me or have penalties been more frequent in this tournament than ever before?
Think that’s 12 in this World Cup already

Poster one and two summed it up.
It's good to see, defenders been punished for holding

Yep. Players aren't getting away with grappling in the box anymore. They'll have to adjust their game.

Don’t think the grappling issue has been addressed fully. Mitrovic yesterday and Kane against Tunisia are two examples of stone wall penalties refused.

Should have been more. How was this not given?!

There has been more penalties because thanks to VAR, stuff that everyone knew was wrong but just learned to accept are being punished.
Eventually teams will adjust to ensure they don't give away pens

It's been addressed but there is still a human element, there will still be mistakes.

It would be a nice touch if someone from FIFA / Ref's Committee or the actual VAR refs invoolved gave a presentation on the most contentious decisions that weren't awarded and explained why they weren't.
I think a lot of the time fans see things only through one eye. Others, it could be the officials who don't quite see it clearly enough in the heat of the moment.
Think it would be a good exercise of transparency for FIFA, and also a good learning exercise for fans about the stuff refs take into account which they don't.
