Just watching the Saudi v. Egypt game, only interested in how Mo is performing. Still in a class of his own. But the decisions of the ref, unbelievable. He's awarded two penalties, both to the Saudi's. The first one, the SA winger, just outside the penalty box, tries to cross the ball in. No problem there. The Egyptian RB turns his back on him, the ball strikes him on the right upper underarm while he's got his back to the ball and is looking the other way. Not even VAR consulted. Egyptian goalie makes a fantastic save.
Five minutes later, again in Egypts penalty box, the two opponents, for a nano-second, each hold the others shirt. Result? Another penalty. Now 1-1.
Absolutely disgraceful decision. Ref is either bent of hates Egyptians. It really is the worst decision by a ref I've seen in many a long while, and has spoiled the game in the process.
The main thing is, Mo has scored, and he's looking better than last week.

Both teams go home, there is nothing the ref can spoil here other than instigate a disgrace of an article on JA
I call it a disgrace because of the assumption that the ref hates Eqyptians. Instead of calling what it is; an incompetent numpty ref

As a result egypt's cards have been well and truly marked since day one.

I've seen the majority of games, on the whole the quality of football has been good, but, as the Portugal v. Iran game has shown, yet again the decision of the ref has been unbelievable. There's been diving, no question, but that doesn't absolve the refs in any way.
