Holiday Reading

On Sunday evening I had the great pleasure of attending the latest book launch by the wonderful Scottish author RJ Mitchell.
β€˜The Shadow of Fear’

The event was held at One Devonshire Gardens (Hotel Du Vin) and hosted by Phil Goodlad of the BBC.
The great and good were in attendance, plus me and the Duchess to drop the tone a touch.
The evening was sponsored by a combination of Nine Elm Books (Publisher) WH Smith (place where books are sold) and Dunnet Bay Distillers (Rock Rose Gin & Holy Grass Vodka).

The Gin is exceptional, particularly as it was free !!!!

Phil did a lengthy and exceptionally interesting interview with RJ and then a reading from the latest novel was made by RJ.

Though I have not read this yet, I’m sure given the standard of the previous RJ Mitchell offerings this will again be of the highest standard and a dramatic just can’t put it down read.
The Shadow of Fear is a new focus for RJ and the start of what will be an ongoing series. Those who may not have read his previous works (are missing a treat) can read this new novel first then back track to the original offerings.

So, Ladies and Gents, if you are looking for some great reads to make your summer holidays even more exciting; then look no further.
Plus show some support for a great Scottish author.

Heading to Oz tomorrow for a few weeks and it's a long flight. So, on the basis of the recommendations on here I've downloaded Gang Of One by Gary Mulgrew and one of the RJ Mitchell books Parallel Lines. Thanks for the heads-up.

If you don't mind tomes then Shantaram is brilliant, lighter reading Beatlebone by Kevin Barry is funny and well written

Don't mind the size of any book as long as it's interesting
That actually looks up my street
