The Tart

I've long held that Renaldo, fantastic, world-class player, was always missing the fishnet stockings, the high heels, bright red lipstick one expects to see in a tart.

Today, he's replaced by the new apprentice in such performances. Who, pray? Step forward, Neymar. Had he been attacked by a maniac armed with a blunt butcher's axe, or gored (or every rodgered, take yer pick) by a mad bull he couldn't have writhed in such abject supposed agony as he did in the game against Mexico. Several minutes later? Springing about like a young gazelle. Ladies and gentleman, may I present: The New Tart.

I was half-enjoying the game until then. After that, pointless to watch until Bobby came on. And scored. What has that boy got to do to start in the Brazil team. He was a sharp as ever.

Why is it that within the majority of South American teams there's such a desire to dive, roll uncontrollably in supposed agony, get up, brandish the imaginary card (which should earn a card in itself) and then rejoin the match at full pelt, with absolutely nothing wrong in them?

May such players never come to LFC.

Rant over.

I seem to remember a world cup where a player (I think it was Valderama) got stretchered off as if he had a broken leg, and was back on the pitch running around five minutes later.

so what?

you can be in terrible, debilitating pain for a very short period of time and then recover fully.

Does it remind you of when you gave birth?

a lot of what about suarez in these responses, but what about suarez? he,s a great player and a terrible cheat.
much like neymar.
these type of players get fouled constantly, maybe they're just trying to make sure they get the call.
once a player gets a reputation he usually doesn't get as many calls his way and stops diving as much.
suarez and neymar don't seem to be cutting back though.

Hazard gets fouled constantly but he doesn't stoop to acting like these two, it's like they never left the breast

yet Beckham received death threats

..............

Only from mindless morons and Beckham's situation was very different from Neymar.

Beckham got himself sent off. Neymar was trying to get the other player sent off.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thats not the point. The point is the play acting. When Neymar does it, everyone is up in arms. When it is someone else, it doesnt get 1/10th of the attention.

And Neymar does get kicked a lot, that doesnt help either.

Anyway, both players should have seen a card, Neymar yellow, the other red.

they should be booked for it.

nobody is booking them so they will do it.

It only requires the cheap free to be given for it to be worth while.

If you booked the guy in the first 5 minutes the first time he tried it then the rest of the game would have the be played honestly.

Dennis Law, great footballer once said that he spent the first five minutes of each game trying to find out what he could get away with from the ref.

For many South Americans - but The Tart is top of the tree - for 'five' read 'ninety'.

I'm with Jimmy, I hate to see it, it's blatant cheating. I always think of Robbo, Keane, Souness, Kenny and imagine their reactions if someone from their team did that.
