A bit of a shame that he's not really played much this tournament for England. He's usually been one of England's first names on the sheet, but I guess Southgate does know his stuff...although with the way Vardy has played, it makes sense to put Welbeck on instead of him next time.
Anyway, remember this picture? http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/09/21/1411299062968_wps_3_image001_png.jpg
It could be coming true
Welbeck

"When you look at how poorly Sterling and Alli have performed, and even Rashford didn't make the most of his chance against Belgium, then you wonder why Welbeck isn't used more."
The only thing I wonder about Welbeck is why he's in Russia.

Welbeck shouldn't be in the squad, let alone getting minutes.

He hasn't earned his place in the squad through his club performances but he does do well for England. Some players do. I mean Sterling is a better player than Townsend yet Townsend has performed better for England, and has more goals in a lot less games.

Sterling has been better for England than Welbeck, he's facked up some high profile moments but his overall game has been far superior
He's an easy target because he mugged off pool

If it aint broke why try fix it...

In a way it is broke though. I mean the Panama result kind of hid the fact that we're really not very good going forward. We're scoring all of our goals off corners, free kicks and penalties (2 of which came as a result of fouls after a FK or corner). Which is fine, until it isn't.. and you come up against a solid structured team who can defend set pieces. Like say Sweden for example.
Unleash dat guy! Sweden won't know what's hit them.

That's debatable. The Sterling for England I know is one that, while has good movement, runs into trouble far too much, makes poor decisions, and doesn't know how to finish. I don't see that changing against the defensively sound Swedish. I'd rather see Welbeck start, not only for his better goal threat but his superior physicality. Either him or Rashford.

Lol he hasn’t played cos he’s shiiiit. Considering England’s attacking options it’s mental they even brought him and left Wilshere and Lallana at home
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's not that shiiit for England, only for Arsenal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lallana has been injured for virtually the whole season and Wilshere plays in a different position.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yea I’m saying they brought too many forwards and not enough midfielders

How is it a shame he hasn't got game time? He's absolute gash compared to Vardy and Rashford. He misses more chances than Stirling and runs like he's spent the night with Graham Norton.
But yes let's just give him game time because Rashford didn't play well in the England B team against Belgium
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You mention him in a sentence with Sterling (note correct spelling) and then say Welbeck looks like the one who spent the night with Graham Norton?????
That is not only homophobic but also so the wrong way around.

I actually do not mind Welbeck. Good team player and chips in with England goals.
