Is pretty close in terms of quality between the two, I just give France the edge, but could go either way.

France still look slightly less than the sum of their parts to me. Yesterday could have ended differently if it weren't for a goalkeeping howler at one end and a fine save from Lloris at the (actually the same end, strictly speaking). Factor in Cavani's absence and France's superiority to Uruguay isn't that self-evident. Obviously if the all click, they can beat anyone.

I'm hoping Belgium so them in the semi-final though. Would be nice to see a first-time winner if England doesn't go all the way. In fact, Belgium v Croatia would be an attractive final if we end up watching as neutrals.

Yes it is. To France, or Croatia, or Belgium or Russia, or England, or Sweden

Don't see what frailties Belgium have showed, they came from 2 down to beat Japan and held out against tournament favourites and arguably the best team they'll face in Brazil

Brazil opened them up a fair bit i thought and to go two down against Japan isn't great

Belgium can beat them. I can't pick a winner. I think France just have the ability to win ugly perhaps.
