Alli too. When Sterling drops off centrally it all becomes a bit tight.

Other option is Sterling in Alli or Lingard's position and Rashford doing it

You're not going to have sterling on the wing and play 3 at the back though are you. And it'd be insane to change that formation.

No, he isn’t going to change it as it’s a winning formula for him. I’d go for a 343 rather than a 352 though.

I would drop one of Alli or Lingard though.

Like I said, this isn't going to happen anyway, it's just what I would do.

Just to add why I'd do that, I don't think how we currently set up is creating enough variety in creation of chances as it's all down the middle. It's set up to do a very specific purpose, which is to drag the central defenders out and create space for the runners. It does make Kane effectively a supporting player though, which is why he's hardly getting any chances. We look far more dangerous from set pieces than we do from open play.

It's working still and Southgate won't change it now and If I was him, I probably wouldn't either as he likes that system. I'm just saying what I would do as I do think we could have been better than we have been in open play.

Instead of Sterling dropping between the lines centrally to hold it up, let Kane do that with Alli supporting him. Have Sterling take up a wider position in possession, whichever side the ball travels to or wherever space opens up, and support the wingback.

You're taking space out of the game by doing that though. Absolutely no need for it.

Taking space out where? There clearly is a need for it, as the central positions are crowded out and we are not creating much at all from open play.

As it is we have four players all trying to get in to the 10 position and as a result we are not getting the best of any of them
