Overhyped and outplayed

So here we go with the “know-it-all” articles.

England comfortably qualified from the group.

England deservedly beat a negative, aggressive Colombian side who turned up to fight and lost.

England won comfortably against Sweden.

Tonight, Croatia kept their heads after the equaliser and England lost theirs. Could and probably should have been 2-0 at half-time but wasn’t. Better team on the night won in the end.

I saw nobody saying England were the best team in the world, or even genuinely predicting we’d win it. Just people enjoying the ride and the fact that we’d seen a young side playing with spirit and togetherness.

But I’m sure you’ll have a great night telling people you were right all along. Enjoy it

Definitely overrated. On reflection now you just feel like they would have gone out to the first big team they had encountered. Just as well we lost to Belgium to take us to the easier route.

We've had a great tournament and the players should be commended. It wasn't meant to be and pathetic threads like this are not warrented.
