It will happen this season, not because you are bad but because you had plenty of players that didn't get a break, it was obvious watching the WC that Kane needs a long break and he isn't the only one, add to that the small squad and i think this will be that season you slip back a little when you really need to be pushing on

Agree with this. Kane, Alli, Rose and even Dier looked like they could do with a break. All of them will miss pre-season. When you know how important preseason is to Posh system of high pressing, you have to wonder how the season will go

They all get paid to pay football, so I expect them all to be starting the season. No excuses. Supporters pay a fortune for season tickets, so why would over paid prima donnas not be ready for the start of the season. Whatever their circumstances, they need to bust a gut to make sure they are ready.

You could flip that and say we had a best season in 16/17, immediately after the Euro's where we had quite a few players playing there too.

Not sure you can compare. England played 4 games at the Euro vs 7 at the WC.
Different manager and tactics as well. They looked like they done much more running this time around than 2 years ago.

Absolutely, but you are only limiting that to our English players. Belgium got to the quarters (Dembele, Vertonghen, Toby), France lost in the final (Hugo, Sissoko), Wales semi final (Davies) etc.
