The Big 6 - Business so far.

Arsenal.

Losing Wilshere and Cazorla shouldn't affect them much as Cazorla has long been out of the first team picture and Wilshere was in and out.

Leno is an upgrade on the ageing Cech.
Lichtsteiner adds experience and i personally would have him ahead of Bellerin in bigger games. A short term fix but one that should shore up the defence.
Papastathopoulos at 17m will need only sell 20 shirts with his name on the back and his fee will be paid off Another experienced defender, not got the biggest of reputations but he's no nonsense and another decent if unspectacular addition.
Torreira looks to be a very smart buy, the kind of player the Arsenal midfield have needed as their platform for a number of year.

I would say Arsenal have done some good solid business, nothing flashy but definitely have added a bit more solidity into their side. I would say in attacking midfield positions they have some work to do still. Ozil and Mkhitaryan blow hot and cold, Iwobi isn't top 6 level yet. After those 3 it's pretty bare so more business needed in that area

Chelsea.

The manager saga is over apart from any compensation issues, the backing still appears to be there from Abramovich shown by the big money acquisition of Jorginho.

Jorginho, highly rated by a number of managers it seems. You would fancy him to excel in another Sarri side. Very much looking forward to seeing what he can do alongside Kante.

An overload of CMs hopefully means for Chelsea fans they will be able to see the back of Bakayoko, Drinkwater or Fabregas. One of the strikers i would expect to make way as well. Holding onto Hazard remains key and they will likely come under some pressure for his services.

Difficult to see what Chelsea need until we know what system they will favour. Would imagine a striker that puts the ball in the back of the net regularly might be high up regardless though.

Liverpool.

Probably the most exciting business so far. Bringing in two very highly rated CM's in Fabinho and Keita should take their midfield up a level. Shaqiri at 13m is great business. Being unable to hold onto Ejaria and Flanagan in the face of interest from Rangers shows there is still work to do if they want to reach the stature of a club like that though.

Fabinho, likely to usurp Henderson to be the sitter of Liverpool's 3 in midfield. An international with lots of CL experience and can play multiple positions. An expensive replacement for Emre Can but with that you get quality.
Keita, Klopp obviously rates him massively to do a deal a season in advance just to secure him. Will need to watch his discipline because he's not shy of a red card.
Shaqiri at 13m would have been a good signing for any team in the PL. Great option to have as cover or to produce a bit of magic from the bench.

Desperately need a goalkeeper. Under no circumstances should Karius or Mignolet be number 1. I'd go as far as saying they won't win a trophy until they sort that position. Could do with moving on some deadwood up top in Sturridge and Ings and not going into the new season with Solanke as the second striking option. Not sure how Origi got on in Germany but if it wasn't good i'd shift him too and try get in another striker. Looking positive especially with the bid for Allison

Manchester City.

Don't need much. Mahrez in a City shirt is one i'm looking forward to watching. Possibly still looking for a CM after losing out to Chelsea for Jorginho.

Mahrez - In a better team i think we will see Title winning season Mahrez back.

Sitting comfortably ahead of the pack in terms of squad quality and options, little work is needed and i suspect little will be done but they've the cash so you never know they might go big for their CL campaign.

Manchester United.

Feels like they go into this season in a similar vein to last season. Still need full backs on both sides as Dalot is one for the future, still need a dominant centre half, still need a right winger. Fred joining might bring balance to the centre midfield to release Pogba who's looked a different player from the one in a United shirt over the summer.

Dalot - Highly rated but inexperienced right back. Possibly has a big future but most would be surprised if he's first choice.

Fred - Seems to have been bought to help release Pogba to play, not seen much of him as he couldn't get himself into the Brazil team this summer.

Grant - Clearly bought so they can sell De Gea.

Tottenham Hotspur.

Someone wake Poch and Levy up. Cheers

What do you think your team still need?

After all the bad blood at the end of wengers reign it will be interesting to see arsenal with a new philosophy and playing style under the first new manager for decades.

Agreed. As a neutral i feel refreshed thinking about watching Arsenal again

The last 10 years under Wenger i gave up watching them unless it was against another big side. There was no belief from me they could do anything out of the ordinary or compete for big trophies.

Hopefully they stop just making up the numbers now and can go forward and genuinely threaten the rest of the big 6 once more.

Levy should be coming out of hibernation in the next week or so. He will spend his first conscious week making insulting offers for players before remembering it's not 2005 anymore. Then we will buy 4 players, 1 of which will be great, 1 okay and 2 gash. It's the same every year.

WRT, Spurs. Do they actually need to make any big signings? The most important business they have don is to tie up Poch and Kane to long term deals. Add Eriksen, Alli and Son to that and they should be happy.

If they can also tie up Alderwiereld to a long term deal then they really just need to supplement the squad, rather than any big purchases. Only real bit of business they need to do is find a replacement for Dembele.

Liverpool woukd sign Jesus if they thought that’d help but nothing will help them until they get rid of Lovren and Karius

Sign who you want but nothing beats a solid unit that have been together for a while
Add sprinkle of new players into that squad and thank you very much, we’ll be fine

Lovren can't be that bad, he's just made the biggest final in club football and in international football in the one summer.

Got an error in him but when he's not making them he's usually decent.

What I find interesting is how the same people who are making a fuss about Liverpool spending money are then laughing at us for not spending money.

So what is the right thing to do?

give people a month or so of lovren paired with vvd and they will stop saying they need to get rid.

Arsenal still need a CB, creative midfielder and a winger

I’d say left back too but looks like Kolasinac is in Emery’s plans so we definitely won’t be buying one
