CL final, Selling Coutinho for £140m+

Awe inspiring attacking football, intelligent scouting/recruitment. A manager who improves/gets the best out of players, higher PL/CL matchday/tv revenues.....due to on field success and stadium expansion.

All of the above (give or take one or two factors) is how we are paying for new signings, this seems to be a topic of debate on here. To be fair, the revenue from selling Coutinho, Suarez and Sterling gave us £265m..... which is what around 75% of what we have paid for our best X| Including Alisson for arguments sake?

Can you really say Liverpool are now for the first time buying “premium” players and not the second tier

Don’t get me wrong Keita and Fabinho could go on to be phenomenal but neither are in that top bracket in their positions.

===========================

You're saying Keita isn't in that top bracket in his position...

Oh dear

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Keita had an awful season in a poor team last year which was a season directly following his break through year which created all the hype - definitely cannot say he’s top bracket right now

Fabinho will never be top bracket he’s a very good player but that’s it, shone at Monaco surrounded by quality but hasn’t looked same since they had an exodus

The comments from some pool fans about they might improve and be top bracket in a year or two is fine and all good except you’re paying fees at a level you expect best in class.

Although Chelsea will be smiling as you’ve now set the price for Courtois move. Interestingly Real overlooked Allison
----------------------------------------------------------------------
keita didn't have an awful season last year, i don't know where you got that one from. stats wise maybe?
saw him play between 15 and 20 games last year and he was the best player out there each game.

Lets just presume we are stupid - please can you explain what the issue is with what jlou said?!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Firstly saying about Poch not reaching any finals.

Secondly seriously thinking that a Chairman who hasn’t invested in a manager would put him under pressure after not winning anything.

Thirdly just the shambolic grammar throughout the post.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
so true.

A small error

He based his post/argument around the fact that Poch has got to no finals. Just because he’s a fellow pool fan doesn’t mean you have to agree with everything, it reflects badly on you.

I think we both know it was based around the overriding fact the Poch has won nothing.
So I missed a league cup final defeat.
You'd think it would have stuck in the memory.
If you think any manager, of any club, with 5 years in, and no success, isn't under pressure, you certainly are as much of a moron as I suspected you were.
Doesn't matter how much he has or hasn't spent, and he has spent money, as well as inheriting some very good players.
You supposedly have the worlds best number 9, a fantastic defence, with one of the best keepers around, another worldy in Erikson, Trippier is suddenly the best left back around, yet your manager, with all this talent at his disposal, is under no pressure at all to deliver.
You truly are flucking clueless.

How long do you stick with Poch then if he doesn’t win anything?

I’m not agreeing with any pool fan - I’m talking to you. The ferocity with which you argued made it sound that his comments were a million miles from the truth - the actual difference - 1 league cup final defeat. If you think that makes a manager of a top team unsackable then I’m not surprised at anyone (Liverpool fan or not) thinking you’re deluded!

Hi mate, nice to see you see you came on here after ten in the evening just to rage post about me with this essay. You clearly haven’t gotten over the embarrassment of the original post and are getting all aggressive and wound up over it bless. I shouldn’t have to explain to you again why you are wrong, you don’t have the capacity to understand it

I don’t think we stick with Poch I think it’s how long he sticks with us. I can imagine he would much rather move to a bigger job soon like a PSG or whatever with a team that actually spends money to compete.

Actually I think Edin might know a bit more about football than you.

The pressure is on the manager who has spent £200m not Poch

Wow - i bet all the managers from 6th down must be thrilled to hear that! How many managers across all the leagues who lost their job last season spent £200mil or more?!!

What a ridiculous statement - a pressure can be on any manager for any number of reasons - you telling me spurs get relegated Poch wont be sacked cos he hasnt spent £200 mil?!!
