You know why I think klopp said what he did two years ago? You know what I think happened? I think Klopp, the little weasel, saw Man Utd spending money two years ago and thought, “I’m manager of Liverpool, I am never going to have that much money to spend since my club is not that rich. Therefore why don’t I take the opportunity to take the moral high ground over spending in football and make myself sound good. I’m never going to have that much money anyway, so it doesn’t matter if I say that I wouldn’t spend money even if I had it. I’m never gonna have that much money so that will never be tested!"
And then he got the money, and, without any shame, he went back on his word. So hilarious. It wasn’t mind games, it was a little weasel jumping on an opportunity to take the moral high ground and make himself sound good thinking he’d never have to make good on what he’d said, only to then be faced with having to follow through with what he said, and proceeding to shamelessly go back on his word.
