The Premier League

The above-named institution, admirably named it must be said, have just won a High Court order blocking all pirate streams from viewing PL games. Many years ago, one fine gentleman of the FA(?), who clearly has the views of fans at heart only allowed live TV coverage of games provided they didn't show any of the traditional, i.e. 3pm Saturday games as this would spell the very end of the English Football Leagues.

Never mind those who can't or can't afford to travel to a game to support the team they love, total blanket ban, and every is hunky-dory. EFL first, last and foremost.

That 3pm/Sat ban was made in the 1960's, a mere 50 years ago, so there's no need to re-visit it, is there? Increased interest in fans seeing games live?
Modern technology? Nah, doesn't count. We need to keep to 60's principles.

What does surprise me, and before going on I'm an admirer of them, is FSG, they are there to make money, that's their world, are losing the same by not challenging this out of date rule. The fact that we can go anywhere else in the world and watch the PL games live, but can't do it here in the U.K. defies belief.

I'd be more than happy to pay to watch games live on tv, I'm pretty certain Anfield would still be packed out, the waiting list for tickets won't go down.

Or is because, in the world of technology, the powers-at-be still live in the Stone Age?

Mind you, there's that old saying, "When there's a will, there's always some clever little chappie able to crack it open."

Missing the point 4zA

If we were able to watch every Premier League game on TV a lot of us wouldn’t need to pirate, but because only select games are shown, we do it so we can see all our teams’ matches. If they won’t give me an option to watch all of Chelsea’s matches, then I will find one myself.

The US televises every single PL game, so why doesn’t the U.K?

Thinks it do with encouraging people to go to lower league games. Could be wrong though

very rare here in canada that a top six team isn't on tv every week. and i watch 8 or 9 pl games each week at minimal cost.

I would happily pay for Sky if they found some way of offering club packages + optional extras, so I could pay to just watch all Chelsea league games and others I choose instead of paying to only be able to watch a few Chelsea games a season and then also having several West Ham or some other shlt team’s games forced on me.

If only.

People wouldn't pirate if the costs were reasonable, I see people doing pirating as a modern type of revolution. In the old days when the status quo charged too much people rebelled and civil wars started.

The Internet allows people to not lose their heads this time

Why would someone want to watch 8 to 9 pl games a week for 9 months? Need to find something else to do

Agreed Jimmy, I would pay to watch on TV, and nobody loses because I can't go to games now.
