Inspired by jp1911’s article yesterday. I made a few articles on here a couple of years ago about Drogba and how I considered him a premier league great, and I ended up being ridiculed and told that the likes of Andy Cole, Robbie Fowler, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Jermain Defoe were all better strikers than Drogba. Needless to say, given Drogba is my all time favourite player and some of the best memories of my childhood were watching Drogba decide cup finals/semi finals/champions league knockout games with his crucial goals, I got pretty mad and argued against them. However no one really agreed with me and I had to back down.
So I’m just wondering what people’s thoughts are on Drogba? Do you consider him a great player? Do you think he was overrated? How does he compare with other Chelsea strikers like Hasselbaink, Costa, even strikers from the 90s or earlier, who I don’t really have the knowledge on personally. How does he compare with the absolute best like Thierry Henry or Ruud Van Nistelrooy? How does he compare with current greats like Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku?
