Perth glory v Chelsea

In the new Optus stadium watching Chelsea v Perth glory. Record attendance for a football match out here in the west, 60,000. Chelsea leading 1-0 half time. Great stadium, more designed for cricket and Ozzie rules though.

It's like men against boys , Chelsea so far in front. How it's only 1-0 , only Timmy and his lawyer mates would know.

Mon the Rangers... Chelsea I mean. 😀

Barkley could be Sarri's missing midfielder - he actually wants the ball.

You been out there long mate?

I was out here 5 years ago Duke, then came back to the UK for a few years, then came back here last year. See if I can stay longer than a few years this time.

The new stadium was just being built when i was living there, it looks a cracker from the pics.

My mate is at the game too.

It is a magnificent stadium to be fair. The price of the match ticket allows you on the public transport system for free. Nice touch that.

Full house tonight, was great evening out to see Chelsea playing out here. Chelsea were miles ahead but we're trying to walk the ball into the back of the net.

There was no restrictions on where you could go within the stadium. At half time I walked round the other end where the Perth supports were and watched 2nd half from there.

Only dampener was the odd prolonged rain shower. Atmosphere was very family oriented.

Perth were shįtę and had a bit of training feel about it but still some encouraging signs and performance s

Yes agreed, Chelsea could and should have scored more , bar the woodwork a couple of times and some good saves from the Perth goalkeeper, it could have been a lot less respectable. Weather did not help though, heavy showers. Players would not be wanting to pick up any injuries. Was played like a training match. Good to see Chelsea out here in Perth 👍

Wow, Perth has changed a lot since 1989!!! I first came out in the early 90s and it's like day and night since then.

It's still a small place compared to the big cities like Sydney and Melbourne but they are gradually getting with the modern world.

Nice life style and social media etc makes you feel you are not quite so far away from the UK.

Feenyins is still here, but I have never been in it.

We keep going back to the UK, so we have only been back a year so far this time 😀
