Venue: Bet 365 Stadium, Stoke
Kickoff: 19.45
Wolves continue their preparations for life in the Premier league with a pre-season friendly against Stoke City. Nuno’s Wolfpack have enjoyed a successful pre-season so far having brought back from Switzerland to the trophy cabinet the Uhrencup, had a drawn game against Dutch giant’s Ajax and given the youngsters a good test in the H-Hotels Cup in Germany.
Stoke are led by recently appointed Gary Rowett, following the sacking of Paul Lambert who failed to keep the club in the Premier League, bringing to end their 10 year run in the top flight.
They have retained star players such as Jack Butland, Charlie Adam, Joe Allen, Saido Berahino and Peter Crouch and recently added Benik Afobe from Wolves and James McClean from West Bromwich Albion. Their current playing staff and top class manager will make Stoke one of the favourites for promotion back to the Premiership in the forthcoming season and this game should provide a tough test for the young Wolves squad.
Wolves fans travelling to Stoke will be hoping to see Portuguese international keeper Rui Patricio and Mexican international striker Raúl Jiménez, both of whom featured in a game in Germany.
Stoke fans will be hoping to see Benik Afobe score against the club that made his loan deal from Bournemouth permanent and then sold him to Stoke at a profit just 2 weeks later.
The game will not be streamed live on Wolves TV but there will be free audio commentary available.

Three successive goalless draws for Wolves. Do we need a striker?

FT 0-0
Not too much to learn from that.
Defensively solid
Giles gives another good performance
Jimenez looked good.
Patricio had a howler, blushes saved by Hause
Too many changes to keep the game flowing.

Will definitely need a striker if you have ambitions of the top half of the table.
