Karius

He's in a dark place just now. He's been subjected to, in LFC terms, unprecedented criticism following the CL and Dortmund games. Iker Caselles and Mo Salah have each found it necessary to come out in public support of the lad, and that is good.

He appears to be openly talking of a move away, a poll in the Echo seems to suggest that, from fans point of view that might be the best option. My view is that he is still a good if not very good goalie whose self-confidence has suck below the deep blue sea, and, given the circumstances that shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

The problem is, and before going any further I lay the blame at the feet of the club and manager, if he were to go or, perish the thought Alisson gets injured, who have we got to step in? Ward, the one and only sufficiently experienced back-up player has been sold - given away in today's prices - to Leicester.

We've now got two goalies, neither of whom enjoy the manager or fan's confidence to do the job as back up. One wanting to get away, the other certainly contemplating it.

I have sympathy for Karius. At the end of the day, it's a game of football. The vitriol he's had to put up with, the never ending flack, no wonder he wants out.

So, do we need to go out and buy, now that Danny's been sold?

Not too sure, Fieldsof. Jurgen certainly said he was standing by him, but you may have a point on the no.1 issue. But the situation still remains unresolved, doesn't it. At this juncture, LFC does not have a credible back up to Alice, especially so in the short term.

12.5 million for ward is really good business. mig is capable of being backup. karius has made some real howlers, most goalies do he has to just get on with it.

Klopp will always defend his players under criticism
as it’s obviously the best thing to do, it clearly makes sense.

He would never hang his players out to dry and pubicly humiliate his players in the same way Mourinho doe.

Klopp’s not a f*cking idiot though, he can tell when a player clearly isn’t good enough and that’s the case with Karius.

Shame for a young keeper.

But such is life, the whole concussion story didn’t help with rival fans. Sure a move back to Germany will see him return to normal.

We’ve still got Mig. But yeah we might sack the pair of them off and get a new number 2 in as well. Although I’d sooner see Karius kept as a number 2 and learn under Alisson.

On karius....ok he fkd up. What should he do? Grow some balls and stop feeling sorry for himself, shove those horrible comments back down peoples throats.

You never know in football...he could easy be Liverpools saviour in a cup final if alisson is out....he could be a hero and lay his demons to rest.

For Liverpool if karius leaves? Well i dont kniw because i think migs wants to leave too.

Karius isn't a top keeper. He's decent. But you ought a new keeper. Better than the ones you currently have. Add to that, you sold your 4th (was third before your new keeper arrived) for £12.5m that's decent dosh for a player who's hardly played for you.

You now have two keepers who are 2nd/3rd choice with not much between them. One has his confidence shot to pieces while never being a top class keeper. Its best for him to leave and restart. Look at Tiabi. Was considered a good keeper in Italy, his short term move to United didn't damage his reputation in Italy where he went on to play in Serie A.

Also, he's not just got hate online, but also allegedly phone calls. The online stuff you could ignore to some extent. But when you get calls, it's something harder to escape.

1. Who actually can verify Karius wants out? It could just be press talk

2. who really cares? if he'd shut his mouth on social media there would be no story.
