Btw-did anyone hear Rodgers’ interview before the game on radio Scotland?! Really odd comments about the recruitment process.

He seemed to be hinting that he has no real influence in transfers. He was asked about the young Australian guy that was mentioned earlier, and said he didn’t really know anything about him and had only seen him once. Was then told that the story was he was on his way to Lennoxtown right now, and he said he didn’t know anything about it.
He also said something along the lines that he doesn’t have final say in transfers. Was odd to say the least, especially as he’s apparently said in his post match interview that we are in for him.

No idea what he’s at Miller. Don’t know if he’s getting frustrated with transfer dealings, or if he’s just trying to wind folk up.

The Sun has got more accurate quotes:
‘BRENDAN RODGERS says he is “aware” of Aussie wonderkid Daniel Arzani – but says transfers are not his focus at Celtic.
We told today how the Hoops were hopeful of landing the 19-year-old on a two-year loan once he completes a move to Manchester City from Melbourne City.
And Rodgers discussed the attacking midfielder before his side’s Champions League clash with Rosenborg.
But the former Liverpool boss warned Parkhead chiefs he doesn’t want to “stockpile” players.
Speaking to BBC Sportsound, he said: “I’ve only seen him [Arzani] from the World Cup, the young player.
“He obviously came on and I have an awareness of him. There’s nothing to add to that.
“Is he a Man City player?
“There’s a connection between Celtic and Man City, which started before I came here.
“It’s not my job – it’s not my focus really.
“My focus is working with the players here that I have and let’s see what players the club can bring in.”
When quizzed further on his comments by Beeb veteran Chick Young, he added: “I think we’re pretty clear on the profile of players we like to have at the club.
“I work with the players that are here.
“I work with them, improve them and give value and hopefully then on a Saturday or Tuesday and Wednesday night they can perform.
“Apart from that…that’s my job.”
The Double Treble winners remain in talks with Hibs over Scotland midfielder John McGinn, having had three bids for the player rejected.
Rodgers said: “It’s pretty clear at this moment in time we’re under strength from where we’ve been in the previous two seasons.
“The club are working hard in terms of trying to get the quality we need in.
“You have to remember this is a very good squad of players and I really don’t want to stockpile players.
“We have to bring in players that are going to improve the squad rather than just add to it.
“That takes finance and that takes money.
“Until we can do that, I’ll work with the players we have.” ‘

Not exactly. Celtic tend to operate on what money they have, others will use money they don’t have right now (no laughing at the back). Celtic in order to get the kind of quality that significantly improves the team need to spend significantly using the cash the have and possibly some they don’t right now - at least that’s what I think he means

Cheers GTB I've got a 6.30 lie in.
Your comments as ever are well appreciated as all the other
esteemed regulars on the thread.
Maybe I'm on at incovenient times but I don't see very much of
Dave TJ and Andy Carrot's stuff.
They know their stuff and are true fitba guys.
Should post more IMO.

I’m touched, TMQ. Think that means I’m an auld cant though!
Ach, haven’t been on that much of late, after losing a couple of family members in recent weeks. Have actually been considering binning it completely after the recent departures of guys I considered to be the life and soul of the forum. Need somebody left to moan about our transfer activity though!

Sorry to hear about your loss DTJ as Quinn says stick with lad, even just for escaping from reality for a moment or 2 👍
