No not talking about the Club, but this forum.
Just been over to the Mix place, and apparently they were invited to a meeting with Jeff Shi, etc.
Apparently Shi has been reading the Mix for a couple of years, no mention of this place
Still as much it was a surprise to see this happening, I am greatly encouraged to see the club engaging with fans. I really am impressed by the way the club is being run, no stone left unturned in our attempt to reach the top.
This is posted from the Mix place, I'm sure they won't mind, and gives a summary of what was said.
One that jumps out at me, 55 to 60 thousand stadium development. Now that's ambition. No mention of parking
1. The mood of posters on the Mix - Jeff talked about how there were extremes of wild optimism or manic pessimism (my words) - we reassured him that this was historical, experiencing false dawns and all that and the rollercoaster ride we'd been hitched too, but the majority were quietly confident about our future and that doom-mongering will subside.
2. Kevin Thelwell - commented on the stick he gets - again, looking at Kevin we said it was a hangover from the previous regime and that we'd always be looking for a scapegoat. He's a good guy and I really took to him in the meeting.
3. Rumours - have never been interested in Silva, as per the other thread but are interested in players that fit within our system and culture. Still interested in Zinchenko and looks like a striker that fits our system. We talked about the fact that there'd not be another Bully style No 9. Kinda made sense that you shouldn't rely on one player for all your goals.
4. Vision and Strategy - they've been working on this and the tack will be to be progressive, they want to do as well a possible and make mo mistake The Owner wants to win the league. I said put this out but others in the group were being hesitant, I said that's exactly what we've talked about in point one, pessimism trumps optimism. They are aiming to progress each year and want to win the league but realise they have to build year on year and there's a big gap to make up in terms of players and income. The will is there, and they want to be respectful in achieving it.
5. The Culture - there is a "will do" not "can do" culture at the club, the players are a big group that are together there are no cliques, no British or Portuguese circles. They bring players in with that in mind, no more Johnson's or O'Hara's.
6. Players - Jeff kept emphasising its about the best players but we have to be creative in how we bring them in as we are mindful of FFP and our income. Whilst Kevin is in charge of recruitment, they approached Mendes when researching clubs and Nuno and Neves etc wouldn't be here without his help. They want to buy the top English players but they have to want to come here and only success on the field will convince them, Wilshire was mentioned in passing.
7. The system - Nuno plays a computer game on the pitch every player knows exactly what position to take up when and the a, b, c, choices they can make. These change if the game dictates. Lambert picked the team, told them tactics but basically left the players to decide on the pitch. Nuno is a machine.
8. Douglas - we all said one year ago there would have been uproar, but now we trust them, though when I said my Mrs was gutted Douglas was going Jeff admitted so was he
9. The Ground - they want a 55-60k seater stadium, have looked at other locations but are working with the same architects as the North Bank and the Council to get it on the current site. Will continue the the design of the North Bank but will learn the lessons and not make the same mistakes. Will start with single tier South Bank and listened when I said pub to seat time is key and they should consult us Laurie said they will consult supporters this time around.
10 Engagement - tonight they were very sincere, there was no agenda and they were very open, they are looking at ways in which they can do this better, extend their reach not only in Wolverhampton but around the 1m plus local catchment area and groups who travel a distance and abroad. China obviously is important.
We are not Premier League

Wonder if Wolves making the PL will improve the area. Town is a dump now and the nightlife seems to have died.

Busby, nightlife is going to be huge, we will all need somewhere to celebrate

Understandable that MM got an audience over us lot I guess, there's hundreds of them, maybe a couple of dozen at most on here. I'd have paid to see Bute & Wolfie sat in a room together with Jeff mind.

Very interesting, other clubs have heard this sort of thing before. Are your owners realistic ? Remember to learn to walk before you even think about running.
Would currently take a lot for the top 6 to become a top 7 or 8, but that's where you should be aiming.

Lil Jeff and Gou dog do indeed consult with Halfy. They wouldn’t waste energy consulting with some on ‘ere’

MM is an intellectual's forum with hundreds of real supporters who go to every game year in and year out. The only educational posts about Wolves on here are lifted from that forum.
The only person on here who goes to every game is a complete plank who doesn't understand football in the slightest. Even Wolfie and Cinci are more clued up on the game.
