Gerrard or Lampard?

Both managers kick off their league campaigns this weekend but what can and is expected from both?

Gerrard? Is he expected to win the league? A trophy? A European place?

Lampard? Win the league? Top 2? Play offs? There aren't many trophies Derby can realistically challenge for.

Ever heard of reputation laundering, Strett?

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/jul/30/manchester-city-human-rights-accusations

The shady individuals owning many of the world’s clubs use their ownerships to try to gain some sort of respectability. Generally the fans lap it up, as in the case of City. They are keen to be seen to do one or two worthy local things to distract from the less wholesome aspects of their businesses and, in the case of City’s owners, horrific human rights abuses. The media tend to lap it all up too - MOTD are only too happy to show footage of a player at some local community scheme.

Thing is, an individual shouldn’t really NEED to launder his reputation if he has been a generally decent human being. It’s a depressing sign of the gullibility of fans who seize upon news stories like the ones you list as “proof” of what a diamond geezer he is. You wouldnt have seen Nigel Doughty doing these kinds of cheap publicity stunts.

the manager would have a voice in the decision - especially if that manager is steven gerrard.

its not just Scottish footballs loss though is it? Its also rangers fans loss.

And lets be honest - he might have gone overboard but its not like there wasnt a valid number of stories there

He was already banned and there was a meeting between Rangers and BBC where the ban was lifted as long as he didn't carry on with his line of reporting.

He did and he got banned. Depicting Ally McCoist committing suicide wasn't a great move from the BBC.

we arent going to agree here - all i can say is if it was celtic, id want bbc coverage and wouldnt want us to be entrenched

I'm sure all Rangers fans want BBC coverage too but they were warned, he was banned, the ban was lifted on condition, the BBC shat on those conditions.

It's pretty simple really. The BBC have made an @rse of it. They f@cked up the relationship and are standing by it. That isn't Rangers problem.

it is rangers problem - might not be their doing - but it is a shared problem

Can't wish any luck for Forest while they are owned by that Greek gangster. Fit and proper person my ar$e.

Eh,

He's an eminent philanthropist, Spart.

In September 2017, he sponsored a special conference in Athens in partnership with Harvard University, to focus on football’s social responsibility, with specific reference to refugees. At the event, he said: “football can cross borders, overcome ancient enmity and bring millions of people around the world together
In November 2017, heled an aid effort, through Olympiacos to bring relief to the victims of massive flooding that hit the town of Mandra in the Attica region of Greece. The effort, included a large quantity of food, bottled water, and other daily necessities sent to those struggling in the aftermath of the flooding.

If that is gangster in your lexicon, I think your moral compass needs resetting.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Think you will find most gangsters from Al Capone to the Mexican cartels like to be liked so indulge in distributing their ill gotten gains to certain causes.

Yes. Chris McLaughlin has been banned but BBC Scotland in turn boycotted Rangers.

I don't see why Rangers have to go back to them if they're boycotting us!

im saying both parties get together - you change your position on ban and they change theirs on boycott

job done
