Wes Morgan

Wes has been a terrific player for us over the years, he’ll go down as a Leicester great no doubt. But I just can’t get my head around the fact tht he’s still captain going into the new season. Does that mean it’s going to be a Morgan and Maguire partnership?!

Had a bid turned down for Mame Biram Diouf according to the sun.

Diouf has been a long-time target. Seem to remember us being in for him in the January 2016 transfer window when we were going for the title, after we had missed out on Remy. Just thought I'd get that in before the Puel bashing starts

Whose target he is not my issue, the fact he is craap is where I have a problem.

a world record bid by utd for McGuire
that would be starting at £80 million

could we seriously turn down that bid for a developing player?
or does it depend on whether his agent has turned his head
if hes happy at city do we sell ?
now we dont need the cash would be my thought..

but if hes had his head turned then we are better letting him go,
however knowing what money is coming in £140 million from mahrez and McGuire rudkin should spend some extra cash on a few targets like Jamal Lascelles and offer the club £3 million more or what there asking with in reason and get them in now not wait till deadline day and faff about arguing over £100k

I have no issue with him being club captain, but the time has come when he shouldn't be a regular starter. Fine as backup - and clubs always need backup, particularly with injury magnets like Johnny Evans predicted to be in the starting 11. I'm also glad that we're looking to buy another centre half, because the youngsters aren't ready yet and Benalouane just gets taken apart against any kind of decent opponent.

On a related note, I don't think Dragovic was the answer. It seems to me that he wanted guaranteed first-team football and we didn't want him as more than a backup. Which is fair enough - if a deal can't be done then it's best to state that now rather than just have an unhappy player on the books.

It seems we're in for a young centre half - either him or Mepham from Brentford - which is suggestive to me that we're looking for someone who isn't first choice now but will develop into the squad over the next couple of seasons. Probably first to replace Morgan, then maybe Maguire next summer. Not sure what it says about how the current youth team centre halves are viewed though.

BS i don't think its having your head turned if the biggest club in the world comes in for you unless you are Alan Shearer you don't say no do you?

Nev

I might think twice, once I realised Man U were managed by Miserable Maureen. Unless Harry Mac wants to play in an 8 man defence
