I see on Facebook that there are Wolves fans worrying that our squad will not comply with the rules with regards to home grown players. So I decided to do a bit of research and came up with the following results.
Now that the transfer window is closed, the 20 Premiership clubs have until September 1st to register their squads for the season. To comply with the new rules the squad (max 25 names) can only include a maximum of 17 foreign players and must include at least 8 ‘home grown’ players.
It would appear that Nuno will be naming a 23 man squad as follows:
Batth, Bennett, Boly, Bonatini, Cavaleiro, Coady, Costa, Dendoncker, Doherty, Enobakhare, Gibbs-White, Hause, Jimenez, Jota, Moutinho, Neves, Norris, Otto, Patricio, Ruddy, Saiss, Traore, Vinagre.
This list includes 14 foreign players and 9 ‘home growns’, one of which is Bright Enobakhare who, although Nigerian born, complies with the home grown rule having now played for Wolves for 3 years prior to reaching the age of 21.
This same rule applies to Matt Doherty who, being from Eire is classified as a foreign player. However, Doc joined Wolves in 2010 when he was 18 and so also played for the club for 3 years before reaching 21.

I am pretty sure not every player always gives 100% and we have seen players lose their heads or stop chasing when things don’t go their way. We have seen players stop playing for managers, try and force moves etc.
Yeah, Edwards and Stearman are not good enough for us now; but there is no need to be disrespectful to them.
You could never fault Edwards commitment to the club. I don’t think he should be subject to abuse. Saying things like ‘his shirt should be hung as an example of mediocrity’ isn’t very respectful to a player who gave his all. You guys obviously disagree.

It was a little tongue in cheek Tam to be fair, regardless of how poor a footballer Edwards is he is a great professional.
And at the end of the day he may receive the poorer comments out of frustration but the reality is that the managers deserve the abuse for not being able to see past players that run a lot and can get on the end of the odd cross.
