🌳 NFFC 🌳 v 📘 RFC 👓

So, the third game of the season is on us already. Another couple of signings through the door in Sam Byram from WHU on a season long loan and Michael Hefele from Udders for around £350k. Probably too late to make the squad for tomorrow’s game but you never know.

Reading haven’t had the best of times recently. Seem have lost a lot of momentum after being contenders for the play offs a couple of seasons ago. On paper, you would back Forest heavily for three points in this one. They played some mesmerising football against the Baggies at times the other night. They need to remember the ultimate aim of the game, however, is get in the scoresheet. Hopefully, we will see less of the over complication of matters (cough, cough Joe Lolley) and more laces through the ball when in striking range of goal.

Dawson and Worrall are both match fit for this game. Can’t see any changes at the back though, as long as Figueiredo is up to two games in four days after his injury comeback. More likely to see changes in the supporting cast for Grabban with Goncalves chomping at the bit to regain his place.

City Ground looking like it will be sold out for home fans as there only 700 tickets left. Can’t imagine Reading will bring more than 1200, though, as they’ve never come close to selling out the away end at Forest. Great to see the NFFC fans backing Karanka and hopefully this will be the game where the Reds finally put a marker down for the rest of thre division to take note.

P.S - Whatever happened to Gareth McCleary?...

Was it AK's first mis-step yesterday? Very surprised that he sent out the same eleven. The team looked fatigued. Still we just about deserved the points.

Eleven changes for the Bury game, so the starting eleven against Wiggum should be fresh. The bonus comes the week after when we play Brum. We will not have had a midweek game, but Brum along with most of teams will have had a game midweek (Wednesday).

I definitely think this is a factor, we had played twice since Reading played and fatigue and preparation time all play a part.

The margins are thin in this league, so you have to make any advantage count, Reading couldn’t today, hopefully we can against brum

I think too much is made of fatigue. It is only the third game of the season. They should be as fit as they are going to get after a full pre season, following a summer break.

I’m sure once the team selection settles down a bit the competition for places will keep everuobe on their toes. As already stated, it’ll take till around October/November until they really find their groove, I reckon.

Brum looked especially poor against Boro on the highlights last night. A team in turmoil if ever I saw one. They were at sixes and sevens so often. That could be the game where Forest put a few chances away and win convincingly.

Depends on context, we not saying they are exhausted but when compared to a second group of athletes the levels of fatigue will be impacted by playing competitive games midweek as opposed to the rest the second team had

Fatigue is not just physical but mental and emotional

Fox, Osborn and to a lesser extent Colback have really showed their value to the team proving me and one or two others wrong along the way!
