So Leo's got a move away to a Club in Mexico on a 4 year deal.
Another Premier League winner moves on, thanks for the memories Leo and good luck.
Ps Slow's gone out on loan. meh.

Anyone checked that Joby is ok about this news by the way. As I’m sure we’ll all know, he’ll be pretty devastated!

I’m doing ok Mersey, but thanks for the concern.
It’s strange to think that Leo was ahead of Vardy in the pecking order at the start of the 2014/15 season and was our top scorer that year.
He was popular with fans because essentially he made a good start to his LCFC career by scoring early goals and by being a trier. It also helped the games he scored in. I’ll always remember the last minute penalty against West Ham and scoring two against Swansea after Vardy was suspended and everyone assuming we might struggle.
For these reasons I think that people will remember him more fondly than perhaps his ability alone would normally merit. A useful player with some notable contributions, but also pretty limited. There are similarities to the Andy King situation in that the club needs now to get better players than him if it’s going to continue to progress.
An average player, with some important contributions, but it’s right for him to be moved on and has been for quite some time. I wish him all the best.

I think we can see above what he'll be remembered for.
A vital winner at the death against Norwich in a match that looked destined for a 0-0, second and third goals at home to Swansea in another vital match that took the game away from them, holding his nerve to score the equalising penalty at the end of that crazy 2-2 against West Ham to keep the points total ticking over. Whatever else he could or couldn't do, those moments go down in Leicester City folklore.

To be fair, that was a cool head for that penalty against West Ham and maybe more important than we believe.
The players all talk about that being a defining moment and one that made them believe they could do it more than ever before.
That may have set the belief and siege mentality that enabled us to go on to Swansea and win. A game that pretty much won us the title.
So, thinking about it, we owe our whole Premier League success down to Ulloa.
Back in your box Joby.

Yes his name is Leonardo, Leicesters no 23
His contributions to the title winning season are well documented on this thread.
But lets not forget his contribution to the great escape
as documented by Joby. Top scorer, crucial to our survival and without which the Prem winning season wouldn't have happened.
Loved his 2 against Swansea though and the whole ground ( including Vardy in the stand) singing 4-0 to the one man team.
Good luck in Mexico Leo and thanks for everything

The outstanding player on the pitch the night Brighton (and Ulloa in particular) tore City’s lack-lustre defence apart and I was fortunate enough to be present (the only appearance from me that year). Brighton’s goalie was the other impressive man.
I don’t know if it was on the strength of this performance that he caught the eye but, sure enough, I think he followed on to the KP not too long after that.

“Back in your box Joby”

What are you on about now?
I’ve not dismissed LU’s contribution, but simply suggested that his legacy exceeded his natural ability. That’s no bad thing at all.
Just as players leave too soon (Kante) others stay too long and, in some ways, both can taint the way they’ll be remembered. Ulloa, all things considered, was a good signing, but he should never have been offered a new contract and ended up being a peripheral player incapable of helping us evolve.
The reason I liken the situation to Andy King is that both deserve to be remembered with fondness and not with the groans that have more recently greeted their names being announced on the team sheet.

For the record Joby, I totally agree with you. Obvs.
It says something about a player when easily the best thing about him is his song 😂

Ironic that there was deal in place under CR that wasn't allowed to happen hence the ' I won't play for CR again'.
Wasted a lot of time and money for both sides, wasn't it Sunderland and he wasn't allowed to go to another Premier League team?

I remember that match and yes, Leo was superb on the night. Although I think he was helped by the fact that it was the first game after the players 'celebrated' getting promotion after the Sheff Wed win, and most of the players were clearly still hanging out of their @rses!
