United...won?
I'm as surprised as you are to be honest. And what a welcome surprise. Our first points of the new season are now on the board and hopefully - hopefully - it's a springboard for the rest of the season.
Obviously it won't be though. We've learned that lesson before.
Still it's nice to get a win and a little bit of positivity, and it was particularly nice given that it's come from the new signing scoring on his debut.
Csaba changed things and lined up with a 352, with Barton dropping into defence, and by all accounts it worked well, particularly in the first half when United were well on top. It's no surprise to hear we passed the ball much better without that dumpling Edge in the defence - I still cannot fathom why anyone rates him when he's incapable of passing the ball.
Second account was apparently quite edgy, particularly after they pulled one back, and that's no surprise to be honest. I think we need to get wins on the board to be able to build the confidence to dominate games from start to finish.
The win buys the manager time although he's still on a shoogly peg. He needs a run of wins now, particularly in our home games. Let's hope he proves us all wrong and he gets those results.

Was this one of those things where someone says something out loud at work and you type that instead of the word you were meant to write? Curious as doesn't look like a typo or autocorrect. I need to know how it happened or what it means!

Saw him in the game at Tannadice last week and he was never in the game - not helped by the hoofball tactics.
Obviously only seen the highlights from the game but it looks like he had a more central role with the freedom to roam and get into the wider areas. SEems to have a decent delivery on him which is obviously very useful. We need to play a passing game with him though so we can get him on the ball.

If anyone's in doubt as to how pash a job Csaba has been doing - his win percentage is currently below both McNamara's & Houston's, despite them managing United in the top flight.
McKinnon was doing a disappointing job but we were 25% more likely to win each match under him.
I mean hooray we won. Positivity and all that.
