I don't know why Cech has not been offloaded, he's a decent bloke but I reiterate that Chelsea were right to evluate him as past it and that was a while ago...

For the same reason why we couldn't offload Mertesacker, Monreal etc. These players are well past it but are on ridiculous wages and contracts dished out by Wenger. Mertesacker for example, is on facing saving coaching team because he still has a year left, although 'retired' from the playing squad.

How much is Cech on? If I remember, he is the one whom forced a move to AFC as he wanted to stay in London. I'm not an expert in contract negotiation but surely that would have made AFC holding the cards?!

Cech forced his way out. Mourinho did not want to sell him. So we needed to attract him. We weren't going to do that offering less than what he was earning at Chelsea. So he bound to be on a lot of money. On the bright side this should be the last year of his contract.

Jose had to make a decision whether to trust Cech or Courtois. Obviously Tibo wasn’t happy to be Cech understudy, so kicked a big fuss about it, sell me or play me. He kinda forced the decision on the club. Cech asked to be sold to another London club so that he didn’t want to be sold abroad as his family was settled in London. Obviously Cech being a ledgend of the club, out of respect for Cech, Roman granted his wish. He’ll be a good back up GK though.

And as for Cech on that first goal, Sokratis was blocking his line of sight until the last split second with his arms behind his back and his movement took him away from the ball.

Cech might have had poor line of sight for the actual shot but he couldn't miss the fact that Sterling was moving across the goal, first shown on the inside by Belerin, then past onto Gendouzi, and then it should have been Xhaka who was not in the right position giving space for Sterling to shoot. Cech should have been moving with Sterling from his near post towards the far post. But he wasn't. Had he been doing that, and expecting the shot he would have reacted a little quicker, it wouldn't have mattered whether Sokratis blocked the line of sight for a millisecond or not. Its this concentration and anticipation of danger you lose with age.

Cech would have been forgiven had Sterling shot back across his body to the near post because he would have been wrong footed. But Sterling didn't do that. He shot went to the only place it could have gone.

I so not blame Cech entirely for the goal because frankly Xhaka should have been along side Gendouzi and not wide. But the shot was so close and not even to make attempt at it is quite scandalous.

I'm not cechs biggest fan, but citys press was very overwhelming. I don't expect any other teams to come to the Emirates and do that.

Having said that, it does make me wonder what Emery thinks of Leno.

Simple, because over time it feeds back and is likely to strengthen his position - we need to get Cech out of the first team - he's going to cost us again big time over the season if he stays in place.

That's true, Managers make their own minds up to a point, but they listen to other people's points of view and that opinion builds up over many people.

Seriously though, yes it's a massive concern, but there's nothing that can be done until January now.

Our defense is just like it has been since Sol, Kolo with Gilberto and Vieira screening was broken up. Do you not remember 'two mistakes' a game Clichy? Or Gallas sitting on the pitch or Vermalen looking back as the opposition score in the space he just vacated whilst running forward like a headless chicken?

It will take time for Emery to turn it around. We have to be patient.
