Zidane

All the newspapers including L'equipe in France are reporting that Zidane is looking at the premier league as his next destination, in particular Manchester United. He is interested in our project.

Would people be happy with this?

Personally, I am not sure he is a great tactician but it does appear that he is a man manager and was able to get the best out of his squad. So maybe the likes of pogba, shaw, martial and others could thrive? He would certainly have the respect of the players as well. If this season doesn't go well, I would be keen on a change and be willing to try this out. If the reports over a director of football are true as well, I think Zidane would work perfectly under this strategy considering that the president of real madrid are the ones in charge of the transfers and he didn't really have much of a say nor did they actually make many transfers under him.

Does Zizou even speak English properly?

I’d rather have Poch.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Poch is the most man united manager out there, he'd be perfect for you and I genuinely hope you don't get him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

LOL you’ve made me want him at the club more now 😅

He's a quality manager and just makes sense at united for a long term contract.

Still don’t really see why he’d wanna come? If he had any sense he’d retire and go down as a managerial legend. I get money will be a factor but moving anywhere will only likely lessen the legacy he’s left so far.

Bloodred I just don’t think we have the time to wait around for Zizou to learn English. IMO Poch is ready made for United IF we do go after a new manager.

I'm pretty we'd sound him out a good few months before. And I said, doubt he'd have much trouble picking it up.

I agree though. Poch would be my number 1 choice if we could tempt him - I think it's only a matter of time before he gets pīssed off with Spurs' tight pursestrings

As I understand it, Zidane isn't the type of person to sit on his legacy. In fact, I don't think he cares too much for that type of stuff (look at his final every game of football).

Plus many could point to the fact he hasn't won a league, has only done it at Madrid and had the likes of Ronaldo, Ramos and Modric.

I think he will go on to manage for a decade plus.

Thing is poch has just signed a six year contract hasn't he? I can't see Daniel Levy allowing him to come to United regardless of the money.

And Poch doesn't have to win anything at Spurs, whereas United need a winner like a Zidane. It's that mentality of having to win that separates the Zidanes and Joses from the Poches of the world.

Think he would be awesome for your club. Hopefully not to happen too soon, though. as most of us want to enjoy the early pantomime season with Jose for as long as possible.

Utd will be a big test for him. Even Pep in his first season at City found it difficult.
But do utd want to stick with the same old same old from Mourinho, or go for something exciting?
