Forest V Brum Match Thread

Live @ http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewLiveArticle/395235
One match ban enabled

17:30 K.O against Birmingham on Saturday, who so far are not shaping up to be amongst the weakest teams in the Division. They've recorded 2 draws and 1 loss so far. Holding Swansea to a nil-nil last Friday night.

Blues had six excellent chances in the first half and a goal ruled out after Michael Morrison was adjudged to have fouled Swansea's debutant goalkeeper Erwin Mulder.

The home side continued to be in control after the break but could not create a clear-cut chance as Omar Bogle headed wide and Che Adams blazed over.

Brum play again tonight away to Bolton Wanderers who have just beaten Reading.

Yanic Wildschut could start for Bolton against Birmingham after scoring the winner at Reading on Saturday.
Striker Clayton Donaldson could also be involved after recovering from a groin injury, but winger Sammy Ameobi remains a doubt with a hip problem.

Birmingham have no new injury problems but David Davis (ankle) and Isaac Vassell (knee) remain unavailable.

Craig Gardner completes a three-match ban, meaning younger brother Gary is set to continue in central midfield.

I will add to this, post tonight's result.

Brum can possibly feel agrieved to have lost this game; they had a larger share of possession, 6 shots on target and 10 corners to Boltons 4 & 3 respectively.
A Will Buckley goal saw Bolton Wanderers continue their unbeaten start to the Championship season with victory against Birmingham City.
The winger got the last touch from Sammy Ameobi's probing cross after an uneventful 73 minutes.

Gary Monk afterwards:
"I called it from the start, I knew the referee was going to cost us tonight, and their goal is an absolute disgrace, it's a clear handball.

"In terms of the performance, we are doing so much right. For 70 minutes we dominated the game and never looked in danger defensively.

"We created four of five really good opportunities, and the danger is that if you don't take those chances, it can cost you."

Birmingham sit in 20th place on 2 points

Can’t always rely on being able to dig yourself out of holes all of the time but I think it shows that there is a definite plan b and the players on the bench are more than suitably motivated to get on the pitch and make their mark. Lolley and Osborn were both superb when they came on.

It was the first goal not the second, that header looked telegraphed back across goal, yet he never moved.

Well, there are good back options available in Steele and Smith now. Nobody should feel too comfortable.

On another subject Alan Hardy has sacked Kevin Nolan after a terrible start to the season, haven't won, lost 3-1 at SincilBank on Saturday.

Now if only the great pr@t had kept his big gob shut he might have got another couple of loan players from us.

But it's always somebody elses fault when you're calling the shot's?

I can only remember him being complimentary about Forest when they borrowed Grant and Yates off Forest or did I miss something?

Yes! he threw his toys out of the pram when Karanka with drew Yates and sent him to Sunny?

Bear, I'm not sure Randall and Karanka would be as petty as Hardy and refuse a loan arrangement if it suited the Reds and the players concerned. We would want youngsters such as Yates and Edser to probably do better than bottom of league two, while Clough and Ward also think they could do better
