why didnt we sign him up to a contract after this tournament?

I don’t know how it works, phenom but I don’t think firms have to pay for people doing national service?

Plus we done a deal so Son doesn’t have to do the next internationals or the Asian Cup in jan ( he’ll do it if they don’t win this though ).

i understand the Asian cup, but i think its a load of nonsense. then again im not exactly fond of international football... i even think the world cup is a waste of time so im hardly gonna get all precious about the asia cup

The WC and these tournaments are defo of a inferior standard,no doubt about that.

Thats why I chuckle when people quote WC success as some marker. Compared to club football its light years behind, and means nothing usually, but in this case it means Son can play 20 odd months of additional football.

Seems weird sports stars, noting Son has to be like some mega star in his homeland for playing in the Prem, cant just put it off til he is in his 30s.

I know it would be preferential treatment but he is representing SK in the worlds most popular league, and that brings lots of attention to SK.

At the same time, from what I understand, its like an honor to do your service and completed with pride.
Winning a gold seems like a win win for everyone really.
