Poch to replace Jose ?

How many Utd fans want that ?

I've been saying for ages that Utd will try and get Poch to replace Mourinho. The only problem is that you're not getting Poch before summer 2019.

So would the likes of Zidane or Conte be willing to come in just as interim until the end to the season? No. Laurent Blanc is probably your best bet if he'd come.

Yeah Ronald is well know for it, in fact that’s his main job on this site.

Always makes me laugh the call out on rubbish with absolutely no reason why you think that is the case.

You know forums are for opinions, that is mine.

Interested to know who you think could be kept and would be able to play a part in a title winning side? And how many and what positions you need strengthening in.

Without being unkind, Why would Poch leave a club like Spurs to go to a club like United, who may get rid of him after a season or two if things start to go wrong.

Poch as far as I know is very happy being at Spurs, and he is building a project, not just buying one. And although we all know Man United are a big club, they certainly do not have anywhere near the pulling power they had of a few years ago under Fergie. In fact you could argue the other team in Manchester have a bigger pull these days.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bigger club, more chance of trophies, an actual transfer budget, more pay...

Spurs are nobodies compared to United I hate to say.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nobodies that look like they're going to finish above them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lille won the French league once, doesn't make them a bigger club than PSG does it.

Also it would be nice for Poch to move to a club that prides themselves on winning trophies not "finishing above" clubs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
that may hve been the case 10-15 years ago but not TODAY.
MUFC currently pride themselves of remembering how big they used to be. Jose is yesterday's manager for yesterday's club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Surely even as you typed that, you must have known it was nonsense?

Utd are the richest club in the world. Their income is close to twice that of Spurs. They get in over 300m Euros more every single year.

As a Liverpool fan I'd be pretty happy at the idea Utd were yesterday's club but it's simply not the case. They can afford to get things wrong, eventually they'll get things right again.

Doesn't mean Spurs can't be successful in their own right however.

The arrogance is astounding here.

Assuming Poch did go which I doubt, you really think you’re squad is that great that you’d instantly be better off??
You’ve got people like fellaini, shaw, Fred, smalling, linderlof, overrated players like lukaku and Pogba

No, you need major I repeat major surgery guys

It's a backwards step right now.

Can't see this happening.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We finished above them last season and dumped them out of the semi final. It's not that unlikely he could join us next summer.

United are a far bigger club with far bigger ambitions and budgets. The mess of the team is on Jose. That won't take long to go away.

There's no way he'd leave Spurs mid season though I agree. However if they don't win anything again I think the frustration of not being backed in the market will take its toll on him.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the mess will take a lot longer than you think to sort out. We are now 4-5 years post Fergie and the club is in a worse shape now than when Moyes took over.

Big contracts, lots of money spent on average players. Lots more needing spent to bring the squad up to standard.

I think as bad as Mourinho has been especially signing players that you would be doing worse with the same squad under most managers imo.

Leaving Spurs to take over a poisoned chalice doesn't seem like a move Poch would make.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Poch is the man Utd should have persued before Mourinho. I was surprised when they didn't, because you don't need to be a mensa candidate to see that Mourinho with his defensive style of football and his outspoken, egotistical manner could prove ro be a mistake. As a rival club supporter I was delighted when you did.

I saw Moyes' position as the poisoned chalice. The next guy Utd hire has a big job on his hands, but given your fall from grace, should be afforded the time to implement a long term strategy with a DOF.

Poch would be the perfect candidate. Or even Klopp, but there is zero chance of obtaining him.

Agree, i was the first to say 2-3 years ago that around next year i can see Poch + Kane ending up at United, they just have United written all over them, will cost a lot but can just see it happening this summer after spurs have another trophyless season.

Not sure who United will get as interim until the summer, but don't think they'll really care
