Last Night's Team Was Our Strongest line Up

I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the line up for last night’s game. I think most of us would probably have picked that starting eleven as our preferred team, but I doubt anyone expected Poch to actually do it!

Most would have had 3 at the back and I doubt many would have expected Rose to start, bearing in mind the rumours of his imminent departure. I’ve also seen comments from our fans lately that Dembele is not up to it anymore.

I have to say that I was hopeful that we would beat Man U before the line up was announced, but when I saw the team I became confident. Even Sky rattling off the stats about our poor record at OT over the years didn’t dampen my spirits.

I would love it if we could field that team for the big games coming up such as against Liverpool and Man City. I really do think it’s our strongest line up.

Anyone agree/disagree?

I think Alli has been really wasteful in a lot of games for us and we got the winning but there was some shockingly slow decision making on the final third from him.

It would be great when Son comes back so we have the option of using him instead of an out of form Alli when we can.

I don`t get why you think Ali is out of form, didn`t he score the winner at Newcastle a couple of games back. He put in a good shift against Fulham, and did his bit last night.

if you get rid of his wastefulness from yesterday he has been one of our best players the last 3 games

I think you're right that sometimes Alli dwells a fraction too long. But overall he's an excellent player and I really thought he put in a shift last night. Trust me, he's a real handful for the opposition. Sometimes his impact may not be as clear when he's not scoring.

I was surprised that Sky kept banging on about our poor record at their place? We've won there twice in recent years which I'm sure is better than most clubs have. This is OT not St James Park we are talking about.

We’ve lost more PL games there than any club in history, that’s why.

I think Alli is very persistent player so ends up with a goal or assist because he doesnt let mistakes get to him.

BUT (and i know hes young and developing) he can also be very wasteful in possession and decision making. If he improves that which i suspect he will as he gets older he will be an even bigger threat.

I looked at the line up and smiled mind you Spurs Ladies could beat this presented team.

I’m not sure I’ve seen enough of Moura to say he is better than Son; not sure if Rose is currently better than Davies or not; and I believe Wanyama 16/17 was better than any season Dier performed for us.

He wasn’t that wasteful in possession. Only Dembele and Trippier had better pass percentages at the weekend and him and Eriksen lost the ball joint least out of all the front four.

Yet people remember one fluff up and make that the rule rather than the exception. Sigh.

Between him and Moura for our best players this season so far.
