Why drop the captain before the old firm? Simply put: because we can!
Here me out. Since our fall out team has been crazy predictable. Same tactics with little squad rotation possible without significantly reducing the quality of starting 11. It was a dream for opposition to prepare against. These days are gone.
Now consider this week. Tic have like us had little time to prepare for the game. As a result? They'll stick to what they know. They'll try to rile fredo. They'll get tierney bombing forward as candy ass carries less of a threat... and you can guarentee they'll have targetted tav's defending... as lets face it, they've had joy there in the past. And lets face it, as captain he's a certain starter if fit right!?
Wrong! Are we considerably weaker starting flan and borna at rb & lb? Hell no! Will we be lacking leadership in a team likely to contain greegs, goldson, katic, jack and lafferty? Hardly. And could we play someone more attacking at rw to keep their lb (e.g kent who they're lb really wont be expecting) from coming forward with flannigan at rb. Deffinitely!
Does tav deserve to be dropped? Absolutely not! He is our captain. He's stevies captain and doing an outstanding job! But we could still afford to do it. And just imagine the uncertainty in the mobs front line when pressure is all on them and the player their going to targets not even on the pitch!
Now. Tbh, i fully expect tav to start. But i am loving that we have a squad good and deep enough to be unpredictable with ( to the point we can even consider rotating our captain for an old firm)!
Here me out: lets drop Tav for sunday!

If Coulibaly doesn't make it then Arfield i'd start hoping he's due to do something and feart that Halliday would get his confidence apart again if he's at fault for anything. Middleton would get on the bench in that case.

Not sure if that's good or not. Out ball yes. Would rely on barasic overlapping / underlapping though or no crosses from the left

Very harsh on ejaria given recent form but think we’d get overrun in a 442 with ejaria as one of the two centre mids.
Gerrard will prob go 4-3-3 tho with laff on the left .
I just hope he doesn’t try that crazy 3-5-2 he did at Motherwell

I'd drop him because he's a pash poor defender who has already cost us a result this season.
He's even worse on the wing, so lets hope that never happens.

I’ve got a feeling he’ll play Kent instead of Candy as Kent is two footed and had a great game against UFA. Really coming onto his game as is Ejaria.
We have lots of options. But the right side of our defence does worry me.

I can only remember him playing there v Celtic in the league cup semi which was lost in the final minutes but maybe there have been other times

There is absolutely no chance tav will be dropped. He's our captain ffs. Laff is a stick on to start in place of Kent

We need a ball carrier v Celtic, that's why i'd use Kent
Lafferty i think will be a sub.
