International or Club

Hi babe

Might have been bomdia that earlier on posted that Trippier appears better playing for England then he does Spurs and Raheem Sterling is the antithesis. So far this season albeit only 4 games Trippier has been regarded by most Spurs fans as our prime taker of corners and free kicks, he’s certainly proved to be better than Eriksen on the former with his ability to actually beat the first man and whip the ball into the box.

Back to what I was saying there must be a long list of players that do the business at club level but flatter to deceive when wearing their country’s colours.

I am in Portugal atm and Ricardo Quaresma was on the news earlier and he immediately came to mind as one player that does well when playing for Portugal - he had a blinding tournament when they won the Euros two summers ago. I think a few Chelsea fans on here may remember him for doing very little when he played for them although it was just a loan. Since then he has played for plenty of clubs only staying for 2 seasons max before moving on. I think he’s found his feet at Beşiktaş where’s he been for 4 seasons now.

On the other side of the scale I immediately think of Ian Wright and Andy Cole, both deadly in front of goal in the EPL but in an England shirt it never went the same way. Shearer and Sheringham were the main strikers for England at this time that would have kept the two out of the contention to lead the line but when given the chance neither really impressed.

Can we think of anybody else?

Klose as well I suppose. I don’t believe his club career was too bad but when playing for Germany he was mustard. Still think he holds the record for most WC goals as well.

Peter Crouch and Danny Welbz are prolific for country yet not club
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Hardly difficult for them to be prolific, England play some absolute dross.

Agreed Welbeck has made a career out of SAN Marino and Lithuania

Bomdia Gaptor (or probably Boa Tarde). I think you can add Costa, at Chelsea he was a real handful, for Spain, probably because of their inability to pass forwards he is underwhelming.
