Are more signings really the answer? Do we need another midfielder? It seems to be what we have done over time last few years. Constantly sign midfielders until we have a huge squad. We have some very good midfielders already. I think we need to concentrate on finding the right way to play them and getting the best out of them. We can’t just sign someone else every time results are not brilliant.
If a great signing becomes available that would really improve the first team then of course we should do it. But signing more average squad players is not a good idea in my opinion.
I have faith Karanka will get it right in time. I just think he needs to have the season with the squad he has and work out his best team. Then maybe add a player in Jan and a couple next summer and build that way. Rather than 12 players in 10 players out every summer.
More signings really?

I understand that Kaz. But we didn’t actually spend enough money to guarantee a promotion push. We are still behind quite a few teams in terms of squad in my opinion.
We have some good players but we are not the next wolves. The two Portuguese lads look decent but they won’t be winning us the title. We will need to play as a team. Problem is there are teams that are already better than us and have had more time such as Brentford. Then there are teams who have spent more than us either this year or over a few years. Such as Boro, Derby and Villa. There are also the Prem teams who dropped down last year. They are always dangerous. We are behind all these teams I think.

Would 100% get Andy King in.
I'd imagine the Greek lad is a bit like Kapino. Leave on a free, sign for us, then get sold on for a tidy profit.
Just don't tell FFP...

This new midfielder that's been released by the Baggies could be a very astute piece of business.
The club isn't being run by a manchild any longer, so I'm sure the finances are under control, especially with the sale of Brereton.
If Watson and Colback doesn't work I'm sure Karanka will shuffle the pack up!

It certainly sends a message to those in that area of the pitch. It’s also going to be a fine juggling act for Karanka to keep everyone happy and motivated as there is even less chance we will see the likes of Yates and Bridcutt for two in the match day squad?...

Now linked with Bakary Sako on a free transfer...

I'd be happy with Sako, although he'll probably go to Villa!
Played nearly 20 games and chipped in with 3 goals in the EPL. Good for six in this league and takes the pressure off the Portuguese wingers. He's a unit as well.
Here is our Dirty Dozen (minus one):
Pantilimon 6ft8
Darikwa 6ft2
Hefele 6ft4
Figuerido 6ft2
Robinson 5ft11
Sako 6ft
Yacob 5ft11
Tacha 6ft4
Yates 6ft3
Soudani 5ft9.5
Murphy 6ft3
That is an evil side if it wanted to be! The majority of that side are 6ft plus. Soudani and Sako are six foot wide as well!!
Birmingham bullied us and Brentford went straight through the middle. If we get Sako, with the other additions, then we may just have bought in players to address both those issues.
Which will take even more time to put into place...with even more combinations to try out.

Or it could just give everyone the kickstart needed?

Sako turned down a new contract at Palace so how much will he want in wages? Could be expensive so I’m not too fussed personally.

Ansarifard looks a done deal.
Just watched his highlights and the goals are mainly a mix of penalties, headers and rebounds / tap-ins.
He looks to have decent strength and good close control. Plus, the ability to be in the right place at the right time.
I'll reserve judgement until he plays though!

Yes, remember people hyping Djebbour! I was there for his one and only goal against Yeovil. What a finish...☺️
