How did we rate Billy Rafferty?

As has been said there is virtually the whole squad that took us down to Division 4 that would walk into any all time worst Wolves squad. So I guess the article is looking at the last 30 years at most. Few names I would throw in that haven’t been mentioned;

Robbie Slater, Steve Claridge, Glen Crowe, Cédric Roussel, Gunnar Halle, Mark Clyde, Leon Clarke,

Leon

Jermaine Pennant
Darren Anderton
Dave Bessant
Neil Collins
Freddy Eastwood

And going back a wee while:
Chris Brindley (legend in Hednesford though)
Roger Eli
The Chapman bros
Peter Zelem
Nicky Clarke
Ray Hankin

Standing on a deserted south bank or sitting in the new stand with a row to yourself watching some of these clowns and thinking to my self that I'd played with better players up Heath Hayes park. Oh my days.

At least Leon got us a few goals first time around.

The second coming of Leon though was indeed disasterous.

Just remembered, you could sit anywhere in the Steve Bull back then so long as it wasn't a season ticket seat (and there weren't many). Could change ends at half time non league style if you wanted.

My abiding memory of those Division 4 days was a match against Newport County. Stood on the half opened South Bank, me and my mate laughing at the incompetence of the Newport players in the first half then leaving the ground head bowed in shame at the end as Wolves lost 2-1

I certainly cant claim to have been a regular during that period, started going again more out of morbid curiosity than anything. And didn't see much at all during three successive relegation years, one game I think in Div2. I was a poor college student at the time so had a reasonable excuse.
