Revisit the 4-1!

Some spurs fans are knocking on and on about the 4-1 defeat that was dished out by them the last time we visited Wembley in a way that suggests it may well be repeated, fair enough I thought; lets have a look at the report from that game, the line ups and the subs. Is it likely again for instance?

Two points, first I remember the game and lovren was absolutely guff, so much so he was hooked before HT, on 31 mins which is an embarrassment for a pro footballer. Second the line ups, we had the chuckle brothers in defence, Mignolet and Moreno.

On the match itself spurs absolutely deserved the win, no issues there! Our defence was woeful and we were hit on the counter with embarrassing ease. So, a repeat likely then?

Well, our line up that day included: Lovren, Matip, Moreno, Mignolet with Klavan, Karius on the bench.....all defensive. This Saturday, out of the 6 mentioned its likely NONE will start while 2 have left the club.

In mf Can, Grujic and coutinho played a part and 2 of the 3 have left while the 3rd is unlikely to even get a subs spot, up front Mane was absent from the squad let alone the first 11. Indeed the starting 11 from that game will likely have at least 6 changes (Mignolet, moreno, can, coutinho, lovren, Matip) while the subs will not feature AOC, Klavan, Karius for the game this Saturday.

On top of that we are likely to have shaqiri, Fabinho, Keita and Mane for this weekend which we did not have for the 4-1 defeat.

Predicted line up plus subs could easily be:

...................Alisson. ...........
..TAA....Gomez. .VVD..Robertson
.........Henderson....Milner. ........
.......................Keita...................
Salah...........Firmino. .......Mane

Subs: Mignolet, Clyne, Shaqiri, Fabinho, Sturridge, Wijnaldum, Matip

Now compare to the previous visit, see link:

So...is a 4 to 1 score line likely? I would say yes probably, for Liverpool

Tbf..that article was factually correct plus how did I know lovren was going to play likea 5yr old.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you know he, or another liverpool player, won't play like a 5 yr old this time as well?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And how do you know that Spυdѕ won't play like they did against the mighty Hornets?

That being the most recent result we have seen from the Spυdѕ, it's likely that order will be restored and it will be another win for Liverpool.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Order will only be restored when you finish above Spurs. Just saying. Not only could Liverpool not beat Spurs home or away last season, but once again they finished behind Spurs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah you were lucky we had such a great run in Europe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Easy draw I recall, the fact is WE FINISHED ABOVE YOU, get over it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There's nothing to get over, you're the ones that keep bringing it up as though it's some sort of an achievement.

Nice to see sandy putting the kiss of death on this game anyway. We all know what happened last time he "expected" a Spurs win.

Yeah, I suppose the runaway league winners with a record 100 pts were an easy draw, as were Roma who easily dispatched Barcelona, the runaway winners of La Liga.

Whereas Spυdѕ beat an under strength, out of form Real Madrid and were taught a lesson by Juve on how not to approach a home 2nd leg when you have only an away goal to protect.

Did you win anything for finishing above a team that had 'bigger fish to fry'?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Real Madrid were no more understrength than Spurs, and were soundly beaten at Wembley, and more than equalled in Spain by Spurs. Oh and they did go on to whack Liverpool in the final.

They didn't whack us at all. Christ.

The last two half decent sides Liverpool met, Roma and Real Madrid, they conceded seven goals in the two games.

They talk a good game about the new Liverpool defence, but in reality against any half decent side, they usually concede at least three minimum.

Seems odd to say after such a strong start defensively, but I fancy our chances against a back four which has such a lack of experience.

Stop talking about history. We're more solid this season and you will find it much harder to score past us.

I'd play Fabinho in this game.

You could make a case for and against it. Playing him would in theory make us even more solid than we have been, but giving him his debut in the Prem in this game would be properly throwing him in at the deep end.

I wouldn't be concerned with throwing an experienced player who's a Brazilian international into this game. He's played bigger games.
