Hopes and fears for tomorrow?

An away trip to face Newcastle United awaits Arsenal tomorrow. After back to back wins before the international break, confidence should be decent. However, the performances have been questionable as the team adapts to Emery and his ideas.

Newcastle United only have 1 point so far, but from one of the hardest starts imaginable. 3 defeats to Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester City all by a 2-1 scoreline. Some would suggest they deserved some points from those three fixtures. Their point came in a disappointing draw against Cardiff, where they had Hayden sent off then missed a penalty with the last kick of the game.

Team news suggests no new injuries, so it will be interesting if Emery sticks with the XI that beat Cardiff. The big news from that selection was Aubameyang and Lacazette both starting - and they rewarded the boss with a goal each. So will Emery continue with both, or bring Mkhitaryan or Iwobi back in?
We still await Lucas Torreira's first start, I would guess Matteo Guendouzi would be the favourite to drop out if Emery feels Torreira is ready.

The back 4 is likely to stay the same, with Cech in goal. Leno may finally get his chance on Thursday in the Europa.

After our away form last season, it was good to win in Cardiff. If we can start a run of wins away from the Emirates it will be a building block to a far better season.

I expect a difficult game, and am predicting 1-1. But hopefully Emery and his team can prove me wrong.

Damn the Arsenal board is dead these days. Used to be the most popular a few years ago

We simply have to win this one. No disrespect to newcastle but if we can't beat them away then i would struggle to see our fortunes away from home improving this season

We are very suspect to set plays and corners. This will be much harder than Cardif

Lawro predicting Newcastle to beat us and predicting Man U to beat Watford. Would have thought it would be the other way round!

No doubt Voldemort will fak us up as he's back.

I hope to see Torreira start as he can help against the counter attacking threat more so than anyone else in the squad.

I fear more defensive injuries as we’re pretty thinly spread as it is
