Rooney on Gerrard

Fancies him to make a move to EPL in a couple of years. Now, its probably just wishful thinking, but id like to think Gerrards got too much sense for that.

Here's why:

1. To what job: is he ever going to want to set-up a team against liverpool?! Fat chance! Maybe the England job could tempt, but if day to day coaching is something he enjoys (which it seems to be) then international management is unlikely to be the right path for him!

2. Longevity: have you seen how long managers last in the EPL!?! Why volunteer to enter that merry-go-round? Where you're success is less down to your teams performances but more to how much your opponents crazy overspend.

3. Doing an Ally: even if he was to get the Liverpool gig... for all his love of them... why risk ruining his legacy by returning to manage them? thinking of McCoist, Weir, Dalgleish... the risks are clear. The dream of pulling off a Zidane is likely to be just that.... a dream.

I hope he realises he has things pretty sweet up here. Money, huge fan base, european football, board backing, fascilities, challenge, and close to home but without a likely chance of facing liverpool.

Lets hope he comes to this conclusion: what more could he want?

What on earth does Rooney know about Gerrard’s managerial ability?

Sakes. Paper talk is all and utter guff. Most likely he’ll head back to Liverpool in some capacity while Klopp is still there.

I doubt he’ll go back to Liverpool while Klopp’s still there. He’s gone out into actual management to avoid that surely.

He’s not even into October in his first managerial post and he’s already being talked up as a future EPL manager

It was already being talked about when he was at the end of his playing career What happens with great captains like him, standard question is whether they’d make a great manager

Aye but prior to this job nobody knew if he was any good.

So far we know he's average.

Which I suppose is enough to get you a gig in England.. Hughes, Pardew, Allardyce, Moyes are never out of work for long 😂

Future England manager.

Can see him taking the step up in a couple of seasons, probably to a Peterborough or Fleetwood Town. Too early for top tier football.
