Leeds Utd v Preston NE Matchday Thread

Time for a bit of payback me thinks Preston the visitors this Tuesday night , the only team to get a result against us so far this season
Pretty sure they'll be up for it again and will fancy their chances against our injury depleted squad

Venue … Elland Road...Date...18th Sept...Kick Off 19:45hrs

Team News
Leeds United,
Berardi, Shackleton, Kemar Roofe, Pablo Hernandez and Patrick Bamford all still injured and none are likely to feature Connor Shaughnessy took a knock in the U23 game today which may rule him out of contention.
It's looking like the same starting 11 as the Millwall game.

Preston
Preston are without suspended midfield pair Ben Pearson and Ryan Ledson, as well as Calum Woods and Sean Maguire (both hamstring).
Alan Browne is still recovering from a calf strain sustained on international duty with the Republic of Ireland.

Match facts
Leeds have only lost one of their last seven league meetings with Preston (W4 D2), but that defeat came in their most recent encounter in April (1-3 at Deepdale).
Since scoring six goals in a 6-4 win in September 2010, Preston haven not scored in any of their last three league visits to Elland Road.
Preston are looking to beat Leeds in three successive matches in all competitions for the first time since March 1958, when they won six straight games against the Whites.
Leeds United are unbeaten in their first seven league matches in consecutive seasons for the first time in their history.
Preston boss Alex Neil has never lost at Elland Road (W2 D2), but his Norwich side were knocked out on penalties in the League Cup back in October 2016 following a 2-2 draw.
Kemar Roofe has scored three goals in four league games against Preston, only against QPR (4) has the striker netted more goals for Leeds. (pity he's not playing though )

There you have it, Mighty Whites sitting on the top of the pile with the lilywhites down in the nether regions..........Both Teams wanting this and Preston thinking they've done us once this season and could do it again....... somehow i don't think so .......2-0 Leeds with Roberts taking his chances and getting both

Anyone else noticed that Bailey's handling has improved.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s irrelevant els... Oldham didn’t want him and some Swedish second division club turned him down. So he’ll never be good enough, we should drop him😀

Lots of boxes ticked tonight... back to winning ways... 3rd choice teenage striker bags a brace, clean sheet... good football without Pablo. Clear at the top. Just what we needed. Happy days.

Milky, I say it as I see it. Most people on here just sit on the fence.
Wasn't I the one who said that the midfield wasn't too shabby, no-one taking me to task on that. I think Wakey slated me for that one.

I’m teasing fella... hence the smiley... saw you hold your hand up re bpf a few games back.

I argued that klich looking good in Holland was meaningless and the most likely reason he wasn’t getting game time was because he wasn’t suited to the champ...
... then I spoke to someone whose opinion of a player I trust at the club, who said he could play but had a big fall out with TC... and had to change my tune a bit

I know Milky.

I worry that even though Bailey has come on leaps and bounds, there will be a time when things go wrong, I hope he is resilient and I think coming through the ranks helps. Don't think Blackman would be given the same support by the ER crowd.

Yes there probably will be such a time... I’m reassured though that in games where there have been questions asked... derby, Swansea... he’s kept his composure in the remainder of those games and played well in the following games. Hey time will tell, he’s doing what’s asked of him at the moment.
