Celtic v Rosenberg

An almost too familiar headline the past 2 years, this is our 5th game of 6 against them in 2 years, we actually play them more regularly these days than Dundee United.....

Anyway, really important to get off to a winning start tonight. A draw isn't good enough, we need to take 9 points from our home games to have a chance of qualifying from this group and on paper this is the easiest game of the 3.

We are almost back at full strength now although Nir Xavi Bitton is still 2 to 3 weeks away. He'll be a welcome addition back into the squad, make no mistake people are being bored with the backwards passing and no one taking responsibility and Bitton may not be everyone's cup of tea but he's good on the ball and everyone knows that.

Kris Ajer looks like he's missing out tonight so it'll be a back 4. Lewis Morgan is likely to miss tonight due to playing on Monday but i suspect he and even Arzani will be in the domestic squads for the coming weeks.

We haven't conceded a goal since Suduva away now, think it's 5 clean sheets in a row so another one tonight would be smashing.

Team tonight then:

Gordon

Lustig
Benkovic
Boyata
KT

Brown
Ntcham

Forrest
McGregor
Sinclair

Edouard

I think that'll be the team tonight with Rogic and Griffiths off the bench. Perhaps Mikey Johnston will also get a run out, we need to stretch the game and keep our width and Sinclair and Forrest are pivotal to that.

Looking forward to the game now, a few hundred tickets remaining so should be a decent atmosphere

With Ntcham, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

He's in his first full season as a first team player, at a huge club. He's trying to find consistency (I hope).

Will judge him on this season's performance

Absolutely ... I’m a big fan of the guy’s ability. He’s had back to back shockers though. Don’t think Moussa’s acrimonious departure is entirely unrelated TBH.

Yeah these guys are kids (relatively), one day you have your best mate playing Fifa with you and the next day poof they're gone forever.

We want them to be adult professionals but when you're sat about sober in rainy Glesgae with no mates.. well there's only so much the money hitting your account can fix

It's not emotional to ask a rational question

Look at it. Rangers are still crap but there fans support them. We are champions and our fans are miserable.

Players thrive of atmosphere and we are letting them down.

Why did we have a fortress ten years ago?

Not because of the players but because the crowd tried to help. Now they can't be bothered and wonder why we struggle.

It would almost be realistic we'd be a right decent side with a playmaker and a RB who's not relying on a mobility scooter
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This.

Probably need a keeper as well but ...

Unfortunately our playmaker is way off form as well, and has been for a while. Nothing happening at all from big Tam really. Hard to blame his WC exploits, given he only played 3 games ... and hardly plays beyond 65 mins anyway, even when fit.

Its like we're the bored housewife, hwe only gets it up and going now and then which is exhilarating.. but he doesn't last very long.. 😐

Aye but they’re idiots and everyone knows the idiots scream louder

An odd game. Rosenborg were fairly tidy on the ball, but had no penetration. We controlled the match, but lacked any punch up front. Boyata and Benkovic were solid tonight-5 clean sheets on the bounce now. Brown was excellent in the middle.

Edouard looks uncomfortable with his back to goal. Lone striker isn’t his position. I think Ntcham won’t play this weekend due to his red card last week, and the rest might dohim good. Lustig started off fine, but got worse as the game went on. He can play an attacking full back role anymore.

I heard Rodgers’ interview on the radio on the way home, and he does at least know what the issues are-passing too slow, not enough goals, etc-now he has to fix it.

Edouard is not a CF.

He's a left or right forward in a front three.

Not a position I think we can afford just now with such a lightweight midfield
