Alisson- 6 Virtually a spectator, one routine save in stoppage time
TAA - 7 Good game from Trent again, good cross from the Matip goal.
VVD- 7 Imperious again when he was on, the guy is world class. Looked ok when he came off.
Matip- 8 Excellent performance considering was his first start. Lovely header for the goal
Robertson- 6 Southampton's little joy came down that side, not Robbo's best game but still chased hard.
Henderson - 6 Solid from the skipper, couple of stray passes.
Wijnaldum- 7 Good all round again from Gini.
Shaqiri 9- MOTM Great performance from Shaq. Two assists, wonderful free kick for the third. His movement is fantastic, going to be a big asset in this sort of game. Strange decision to sub him at half time but Klopp says he wanted more control in midfield.
Mane- 6 Quite a lot of what he tried didn't come off for him today, still always looking dangerous.
Firmino- 6 Same as Mane, gave the ball away a few times. Worked tirelessly as per usual.
Salah 7- Great performance from Mo as a centre forward, could have had a hat trick. Some great runs.
Subs:
Gomez- 8 Excellent again
Milner - 6 Did his job
Keita - 6 a few bright moments, looked dangerous with his pace.

Matip will play plenty of games this season Great. That’s the beauty with having a big squad, competition for places which brings the best out of the players.
Gomez has been fantastic since the first game and was brilliant again today when he came on. Lovren now has a job getting above Matip let alone Gomez, which can only be good news!

Gomez was doing well, but an 8?? I think some people are starting to overrate Gomez. When he came on it already was 3-0 and Southampton was poor. Gomez dealt with the few attacks they had and was a solid 7 for me. I'd give vvd a 7.5 because of the vital block and important tackles.

Didn’t get to see the game today, had things to do, but one thing puzzles me a bit.
3-0 up at half time, Shaqiri playing a blinder but Klopp wants more control in midfield. Surely that is the perfect time to give Mane a rest. Or Salah. Let Shaqiri go further forward and give one of them a rest for the tough games to come!

Yep. I find it slightly strange. If it was 1-0 I could understand it. I've maintained from the start that we couldn't play the same way with shaq wide because he simply doesn't make the same runs that our wide players need to make. That said, at 3-0 we can get away with that. It was an odd decision but when we're 6 from 6 nobody is going to question it.

Can't understand it nor not bringing in Fabinho. It was Shaqiri 1st start and surely he is not tired. Ideal subs would havebeen Fabinho for Henderson. The other two subs were fine. The only reason it could be Shaqiri had a knock.

Even more reason to try - Shaqiri will be our replacement for Mane/Salah surely so we’d better get used to playing with him up top sooner or later.
Seems churlish to criticise when we’re 6 from 6 just baffled me a bit.

Klopp confirmed the Shaqiri sub was purely tactical, apparently he wanted more control in midfield.
I don’t understand it either, Shaq was the best player on the pitch in that first half. It’s not as if we were playing Barcelona. In that situation I’d understand wanting more control. Really was bizarre from Klopp.
Shaq looked pretty pisssed off on the bench and who could blame him.

I'm sure both will start against the chaavs on Wednesday . This might have played a part in Klopp's thinking re. Shaq.
