A welcome win today to get the season

back on track, but it was only an OK performance, that was nearly punished at the end. Despite dominating possession again, the defence is carved open far too easily for my liking. Major problems with both full backs defending in my opinion. OK going forward, but defending both Trippier and Rose look very weak. On the plus side though Gazzinga looked half decent, surely he would have now jumped above Vorm, and looks a good back up to Lloris. Harry looked sharp second half, and was at least getting shots on target, could have had a couple more if he had hit his shots either side of the goalie.

The other thing that is slightly worrying is the amount of possession Spurs get in games and then barely get over the line or lose as the past three games. They simply have to be doing more with all this possession they get.

Last four games
Spurs 66%
Watford 34%
LOST

Spurs 60%
Liverpool 40%
LOST

Spurs 54%
Inter Milan 46%
LOST

Spurs 72%
Brighton 28%
Scrapped over the line

Absolutely overwhelming possession in last four games, but poor results. Need to make the possession count. Cut out all the sideways and backwards stuff and a bit more forward stuff at pace.

Anyway on to MK Dons midweek. All change again I assume. Time to take the League Cup seriously. Poch likes a rotate, so it is anybody`s guess what team will start. Hengy what`s the parking like there, I am going Wednesday.

I think that if we had played today's team against Milan we would have had at least a draw.

Anyways, back to winning ways now.

Trippier having a decent world cup is bad news for Spurs

I was at the game today.

It was not the scintillating football from us, that we expect. Dier was lethargic and got caught in possession too many times. Rose overdoes dribbling and gies the ball away too often
Eriksen was largely absent. Lamela , then Delli, both changed the game for us.
Brighton should've scored in the last second of the game, so we got lucky.
Kane missed a good chance and looked off too.
Dembele was really solid as ever.
I think Brighton missed a trick today but I am happy with the 3 points.
The rain was incessant so maybe that played some part too.

Not a new problem Sandy. We are capable of dominating opponents but not capable of destroying them. Look at the way City or Liverpool put 3 or 4 away when on top in a game. We have that level of dominance regularly, but rarely bury teams like that and often find ourselves open to an equaliser in a game we've dominated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What are you on about?

Only barely few days ago, Spurs put 3 yes THREE goals past United using some devastating counter attacks, and we didn't even have the "level" of dominance you mentioned?

Stop reading the garbage and moaning!

You mention Liverpool? They'll beat few teams now because they are ahead of almost every side in preparation, including ahead of us, City, United and even PSG.

They are that much sharper right now. Yet, the season evens out everything come end of December, Jan and Feb. By virtue of being ahead of everyone in fitness and tactical preparation, they are where they are.
This league if nothing, is profoundly challenging and Spurs have proven the last two season, that Spurs fitness and sharpness gets better in the middle and latter part of the season.

I saw a stat last week that showed Spurs are 1 point ahead of last year at the same stage?

Fickle fans

Spurs are notiouriously slow and every season, after 10 games, we get a mini riot of fans up in arms, because we are not playing that well.

And every season, Spurs finish very strongly. Only 2 defeats from December!

Last year, we lost to Chelsea at Wembley too, at the start of the season.

Its like watching certain Spurs fans in REWIND mode.

Season starts, because Spurs always struggle at the start of the season...but the same crowd

Chill. Season us only 7 games in.

Anyone notice that the second goal for us yesterday, I was at the ground by the way, started from the keeper, then some nutmeg from Trippier, two more passes gets to the byline, two more passes gets back to Lamela.

Watching it live, the quickness and execution of that goal, speaks volume for things to come

A collective goal If this was Liverpool, the media would've been raving about it!
