so its over.......theyve finally been sold (the majority shareholding), for 30bn as well.
here comes Comcast......the current holders of the premier league in the USA's broadcasting rights.
i do have to say NBC do a great job of providing every game on TV and available to stream with good apps for highlights, reviews etc
obviously despite their massive capability theyll still only be able to broadcast a portion of games live, it truly is time the UK got with the times and stop letting us folks based overseas see more PL action every week than the people who actually live in England.
good bye FOX (who are more than likely to sell their remaining share to Comcast too), you were grand.....

This will put Murdoch in his grave.

Almost makes me glad we have the Glazers. We very nearly had him. Although neither scenario is good.
Murdoch is just pure evil.

You'd be evil too if your parents named you Rupert

Maybe they'll sort out the skygo app, absolute abomination of the a program! Anyone else tried to watch footy live on it?
It goes from decent quality to absolute cabbage (I know it's not my connection)

Yeah it's crap, a mate of mine let me have it on my laptop as one of his devices and it was garbage, I just stream from Totalsportek instead, much less hassle and no buffer/crap picture

Yeah that's the ridiculous thing. I have no choice but to stream from some pirate site because the incredibly overpriced sky (with a limited amount of games) isn't fit for purpose

From the point of view of the domestic viewer, things get worse from year to year. Sky were banned from having all games, under the guise that it was healthy for competition and would help the customer. What it actually achieved was ensuring that customers had to pay a couple of separate subscriptions, at a considerably higher cost. And the Eleven Sports got involved. Is there any wonder that people illegally stream football?

The only thing they should have done (if anything) is taken that allocation of whatever it was...20%? of games and allowed the bidding to be only from free to air channels. That's actualy helpful to the market and the comsumer

100% 👍. And that would be the logical thing to do, if you actually care about the customer. Even in F1, only the British GP will be on terrestrial from next year. And that's only because it's a protected event
