'Football Goes In Cycles'

A common phrase heard, which I've always dismissed in terms of United, but is it time to admit that we are heading for a bit of an Arsenal/Liverpool-like stint of mediocrity?

City and Liverpool look like dominating, even Chelsea coming back possibly. With the funds we have we should still be competing. But United have had 20/30 years of success and domination. Is our time coming to an end for a while?

This season is a write-off already. No idea what we do in terms of attacking in training. We look toothless and it just seems we have no idea what we are doing in attack.

We have a plethora of attacking options, they don't turn awful overnight surely?!

Martial, Lukaku, Rashford, Sanchez, Pogba, Mata, Lingard. Am I over-rating them or should they comfortably be winning us games? It's clear to see Jose has lost the dressing room now.

We need a new direction, a fresh start. We might have to suffer for a couple of years, but let's get the internal systems right again. With Jose there seems to be no plan, no philosophy, no system in terms of how we play.

Are we heading for a barren spell?

Jose wasn't backed and it's obvious there was a lack of faith from the board with him.

.............................................

Really? 400 odd million and the board are not backing him?

Maybe but it's not as though it's an inevitability. The only reason we are in this mess is because those running the club have made a wrong decision at every single turn possible since Fergie left, at least in a footballing sense.. I honestly think if you'd made your average ja606er the DoF back in 2013 we wouldn't be any worse off now.

We won't win the league for another few years at least but we have the resources to pull ourselves back up there if the right decisions start to get made. It's just whether or not that happens.

Today Brighton have appointed a technical director. We are still stuck in the 90's.

Someone has to be appointed to be a middle man between the manager and Ed.

And I am saying this as someone who hates middlemen in business.

I was about to get on my bike home from 7 a side last night and was trying to find somewhere to put the ball. There was absolutely no way of carrying it using the bike.

That is when I realised that no, football does not go in cycles.

The question is really this simple. Would we better off with Derby City players from yesterday? As soon as you think of it, you'll understand that Jose should have been gone.

So is this how Rooney became so good at tracking back?

I think we need to bite the bullet, just accept no trophies for a while, get back to play attacking football. We have the talent there at our disposal. We need a manager to come in before they all want to leave

The thing we have going for us, is we have the finances and facilities to challenge any point if we recruit correctly, that being the manager, staff and players.

It's been at an end for 5 years. It's not coming to an end.
