Alisson Becker

Prove his worth today couple of world class saves when one on one looks like a really reliable confident goalkeeper.

Also think the squad strength showed today being able to bring on a player like Sturridge who’s at the top of his game compared to bringing on Origi or Solanke makes a big difference.

Thought it was going to be one of those days where the ball just doesn’t hit the net glad I got proved wrong..

Think Salah needs a rest wouldnt start him against Napoli or Mane to be honest think Sturbridge and Shaq should start we look at bit off colour with our final balls just now.

Roll on next weekend against City massive game

Where the fack was trent.. wasn’t even in the frame

I think the thing yesterday shows is that our defence is still developing and are not quite the finished article. 100% going in the right direction though and faster than I hoped 😊😢😊

Trent clearly made an error.

But people need to look again at the one touch football Chelsea executed in that move to induce the error.

They absolutely cut us up in midfield and Trent chased one he shouldn't.

Hazard was in then

Mig is a good shot stopper if you use your eyes rather than stats which don't tell you have difficult the save was, amongst other things. Save percentage is an unreliable stat.

Something too difficult for you to understand here?

Let's dumb it down a little.

Mignolet has ten shots against him, in a system where attacks against you are likely to expose you when they succeed, with a high line and press, ten are 'expected goals'. He saves five of them. He has a 50% save percentage.

Dr Gea has ten shots against him, in a system where the defence are low and midfield closer to them, with a slow build up, 2 are 'expected goals', he saves 8 of them. He has an 80% save percentage.

Who has done better?

I'll help you out, it's Mignolet, despite the flawed stats suggesting otherwise.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
are you seriously suggesting Mignolet is a better keeper than De Gea, stop drinking drain cleaner nutter.

I give up with it to be honest.

On another note - I believe Allison has the best save percentage this season, not counting keepers with only a couple of games. Worth noting that a Cruyff turn, losing the ball and the opposition scoring is another example of save percentage being a flawed stat.

In the hypothetical scenario provided, he’s suggesting keeper A is better than Keeper B based on the nature of chances and the system as opposed to statistics.

As for replacing names - you might want to check the preceding post where that hypothetical was applied directly to Mignolet

Good grief man.
