Derby County 1 - 1 Norwich City

1945
Pride Park
Derby
3rd Oct 2018

Panic? Not really. I've never seen The Faithful so well disposed towards a Derby manager after such an annoying result. But tolerant we are and the wagon trundles on.

Ang's mates are the mid-week visitors to Pride Park , on a Wednesday no less - I thought we played on Tuesday's .

I feel that there may be changes after we failed to break down an ordinary Bolton side which followed similar frustrations against Blackburn and Rotherham. Huddz, Wisdom and TL are pushing for a return and we may see Waghorn starting. Btw, is Ledley still with us? Also,a surprise recall for Butterfield is on the cards after he scored in the reserve game last night.

Again I have to say that the sum of individual players in the team are not greater than the whole team, we need to be able to have a plan b, c and d to break these 2 rows of four teams who, gleefully revert(?) to this when they play Derby. Derby have failed to score in the 3 out of 4 league games.

Norwich have just won four on the trot and will be pushing for a fifth win.

That's a fair comment Backo. They came to us on a red hot streak full of confidence. We went into the game after a defeat.
I predicted a loss because of that so I'm kind of okay with a draw.
We weren't rubbish but we can be a lot better.

'People forget sometimes that teams are allowed to play well against us.'

Amen to that. Can't be said enough

Didn’t think it was Keogh’s fault for the goal last night, someone else didn’t follow the runner but as Backo says they are a decent side and I sure as hell alluded to it on the match thread.

My frustration is continually starting Nugent but I’ve said my piece enough on the matter.

It was Tomori Igor. He was picking him up from the corner and just let him run.

I was surprised Nugent and Bennett started last night. They have done well lately and put plenty of effort in. Marriott,Waghorn,Lawrence,Josefzoon must all be chomping at the bit. Ive noticed last 2...to get Waghorn and Marriott together upfront we have change to a diamond midfield. Interesting to get 2 up top.

For sure need to jazz it up, we are too predictable and how many times has Nugent got a block when is running the keepers throat, once if I recall since he’s being here and all it does is tire him out.

Hard to knock Tomori as he is a joy watch and reads the game but bravery has to be questionable.

It’s looking Chelsea won’t grant permission for the two loanees to play against them.

It was a frustrating night because we gave the ball away in areas where we were very slick against Brentford and Man U. Norwich played well and passed it better but I thought we overall had more control....until we gave it away. The effort was very good and back to normal after the Bolton game. It was just one of those nights where things didn't quite come off. The ref didn't help, I thought he was poor. We lacked penetration and maybe we do need to rotate a few players. Waghorn looked busy when he came on, Lawrence ineffective. Keogh's defending overall was outstanding I thought, for the goal it was hard to tell and both Keogh and Tomori seemed to be blaming each other.

We seemed a bit too keen to force it and the final ball was often of poor quality, Malone's crosses and Waghorn's for the goal being an exception. Bogle ran into a few dead ends and decision-making on the right seemed poor.

A stuttering sort of performance rather than bad. Mount looked top quality again but couldn't link up with others. Surely we need to freshen up the front three. I would have Wilson, Marriott and Waghorn on Saturday.
