Arsenal the “dirtiest’’ team in PL

ARSENAL have committed more fouls than any other team in the Premier League this season, quite revealing and a revelation compared to recent past.

We seem to have become mean and nasty, long may it last. Granit Xhaka has racked up 14 fouls already this season and Torreira in short starts is about to overtake him, interesting, Arsenal are back.

18. Manchester City – 73

17. Liverpool – 76

16. Newcastle – 77

15. Southampton – 79

14. Cardiff – 80

Fouling a lot can often be a bad habit to get into, it can lose you games. But it can be useful when done in right place and time. Lots of good teams will foul a player to stop an attack or counter when your team is disorganised. Often thought we should have done bit of that in last few years instead of letting a player run unchallenged at an defence all out of position

You guys are just terrible at tackling...which shouldn't come as a shock if you look at the players you guys have.

We never practiced tackling under Wenger. Clichy told the world that. That is different now so those numbers are going to improve. Tackling numbers should stay high, as we have also started to press as a team but the number of fouls should start coming down.

Do you think other teams actually "practise" tackling?

"He's surprised at that because at Arsenal they don't tackle too much in training. We train as we play, but as soon as we come off the field everyone is together"

So I suppose the more you do a thing the better you get at it. Thats "practising" isn't it?
