Dutch Eredivisie

Not sure if anyone has seen this but there are new proposals being suggested for Dutch football, little bit more detail below.

A new Eredivisie structure is close to being approved. New proposal will make the league 16 clubs with end of season playoffs. PSV, Feyenoord and Ajax have agreed to distribute part of their earnings from Europe around all the clubs in order to get rid of artificial pitches.

Quite clearly this is relevant to our game given we have 3 artificial pitches in our top flight.

Whilst I do know whenever Celtic have qualified for the CL, clubs receiv around £200,000 for youth development throughout the country, would we be willing to distribute say, anything up to 50% of the earnings to the rest of the league to help clubs get on a better footing financially and bin the artificial pitches?

Fair play to the Dutch clubs, clearly want to try and make their league stronger but I’m not so sure the fools who run our game and some of the idiots in charge of some of the clubs wouldn’t make a rip roaring Kant of it and squander the cash.

The idea of a 18 team league is a must for me, play each other twice which would bring some excitement back into games and may entice some fans back if they believe they can achieve something in the play offs etc.

Whether we have 18 teams who would be full time with no plastic pitches remains to be seen but this may help that idea.

Nonetheless it’ll be interesting to see how this works over there and if we could follow suit.

‘No rules were broken at the time 😁 Otherwise we would have been severely punished’

I thought they were told it was almost as bad as match fixing, fined £250,000 and given a transfer ban?!

Personally I think "almost as bad as match fixing" is an utter over reaction. I know I'm biased but I still see that and go away to fuq

Never gonna happen

We can’t even agree to divvy up tickets for a Hampden semi final never mind give cold hard currency to other clubs. It’s probevly gonna cost the clubs involved money with the unsold tickets .

Nice idea from the Dutch but Scotland doesn’t have the mentality to do it imo
