Another Royal Wedding today

Who is for, and who is against? Is it a waste of public money? Should the Royal family have been banished to history like most of the Royal families around Europe? Do they have any purpose?

Lots of questions, I need some answers. Personally I enjoyed the Queen`s Coronation Party in 1953 as a young lad of four years old. But when I got the age of about 16, I went of the Royals big time, and realised they are a complete waste of time and money. Each to their own though I suppose, some do not mind bowing and curtseying in the 21st century.

Try to keep it pleasant please. Just filling in time between Prem fixtures.

Looking at some of the Royals, I cannot tell a lot of difference.

Imagine wanting the likes of Corbyn or may being head of state over Elizabeth

I think being elected trumps not being elected every day of the week.

The Prince of Wales alone claims almost as much land as the MoD.

Articles such as these are nothing but apologist nonsense that fails to address the fact that 90% of the population of the home islands is still forced to scramble for the less than 10% of land that is not claimed by various government agencies and "feudal" title holders.

In reality, 70% of the population has to scramble for 5% of the total available land resources (classified as urban), while the remaining 5% is claimed by rural populations.

The worst part is that massive chunks of the "unavailable" 90% of land resources is held up by nebulous members of the peerage.

Yeh the land thing gets me. The aristocrats own most of it. Something not quite right there. We are all in it together and all that.

To be fair I'd wager there are a lot more royalists than those who vote for the winning party.

"keep it pleasant please"? This is 2018.

I suppose some don't mind keeping it pleasant in the 21st century...

I'm glad it was relegated to a Friday, and wish the couple a happy marriage.

Having an impartial head of state is quite a good thing, I'd say. In any move towards a republican state, that would have to stay.

Other than that, the only ones I like are Liz and Harry.

yeah harry seems ok but his dad wasn't a royal though was he

The worst thing is the incredibly cringworthy coverage of them (and their facking weddings).

Much of the world has some bizarre need to worship and bow to their overlords. Whether it be made up gods or people born into power and wealth this must be down to a flaw in human brains. Or perhaps not even a flaw, it may well have some positive effects for the species as a whole although I can't see it myself...
