Could see why Newcastle would want him. Imagine Rafa would take any new signing right about now.

Seems to be a strange one. He's looked useful whenever I've seen him. Although you can see why he wasn't ready at Leipzig, as he maybe doesn't understand the role tactically. Thought one of the two striker roles would suit him with less defensive responsibility, especially off the bench. Struggle to see how he isn't better than HRK, who I can't actually see what he is supposed to be good at.

I'm hoping the scouts were at our last U23s match. Burke scored a stunner.

May be he'll come good. He's still only 21 and not played that much. However, surely we can't have that sort of luxury.

If there's a chance of us signing Barnes on a permanent or getting Dack in January, i'd sell Burke and use the Chadli money to make it happen!

It's being rumoured that Newcastle are considering a Burke/Gayle swap deal in January.

Burke was raw but very exciting when he broke through at Forest. A forceful runner with the ball who could finish well. Should never have left the CG so early on in his career but it was the old owner’s doing when he saw the pound signs. His struggles since haven’t surprised me. Too much, too young as The Specials used to say.

Agreed. He's still very young though. Still not sure if he'll make it or not but he's certainly quite an athlete!
